Can you upgrade a park hopper to annual pass?

Actually, more to the point, if you purchase a park hopper online, then notice an AP rate has come out for your visit, can you call and upgrade to an AP to get the AP rate?

I currently have an AP, but codes were far and few between last year. With only 1 trip for next year, it won't be worth getting an AP with a resort discount. So, before I renew my AP, I thought I'd find out about this first.

For our trip in May we had 7-day hoppers. On our first day at MK we went to guest services to upgrade to annual passes.

Their computers kept going down and the CM was having a terrible time printing our new APs (i really felt bad for her, she was really trying hard).

After about 45 minutes they were finally able to print our 3 APs, but for whatever reason they were now having trouble charging us the difference! This was not a fun time for DH, he was with our 2 girls (3 1/2 years and 21 months at the time) and trying to keep them calm! Not easy when they just got there after being in airplanes and airports all day!

A new CM came over and fixed everything and we ended up only paying $26 total to upgrade 2 adult and 1 child 7-day hoppers to APs! Needless to say it more than made up for the waiting and hassle!

I guess my point is that yes you can upgrade to AP. I think that you will need to actually have the AP on you when you check in if you use it for a resort discount!
