Sorry, I am new to this so it might be a dumb question. If we do the quick service plan, can you use counter service credits to buy snacks? Like does one counter service meal count as two snacks, or something? I thought I'd read that somewhere but can't find any info on it.
Thanks for your help! I love this board!

There have been some reports of being able to exchange a CS for 3 snacks but it seems to be at the resorts only and usually up to the cast member working there at the time.

I've never been able to do it either. Curious to see if anyone has actual success with this...

We've done it multiple times without a problem. We've only ever tried to do it at our resort (Contempo Cafe, Pop food court and ASMo food court.) One of the times we did it at Pop, the cashier said we had to get 1 drink and 2 snacks, however every other time we've done it, we've always been able to get 3 snacks (drinks and/or food, however we choose.) Having said this, we have always done this when free dining was going on, not sure if it makes a difference. We did this in Sept. 2010, Sept. 09, and Sept. 08. We've also exchange 1 TS for 1 CS when we've needed to without a problem as well. I know it's not financially smart to do, but sometimes we've just needed the convenience.

Last year at Contempo. cafe, the cashiers were basically advertising the 1 CS for 3 snacks thing. They told us about it multiple times, even when we were just getting regular meals.

We were able to exchange one CS for 3 snacks at ASMo last week. We ended up with an extra meal because my daughter had gotten sick. I think while she was sick and I was trying to get some breakfast (oatmeal, dry cereal and a banana) to take back to the room the cashier told me about it. We would definitely do the QSD again because it was just the right amount of food for us. And several times we would get a bottle of water for the drink portion of the meal for at the parks. Also instead of dessert we would often get fruit.

never been able to do this ourselves - always 'lost' cs however if you use a cs at the Bouulangerie Patisserie in France in EPCOT you can use your cs for two cakes/pastries rather than a savoury and pastry. The pastries made great airline tea snacks.

We were able to use 1cs to get 3 snacks at Contempo cafe and all star music.

Most of the reports are for people trading 1 CS for three snacks at the resort food courts. However, at CSR we were told both by the CM behind the counter and also the manager that it would be a one for one straight up trade. For three CS all we could get was three snacks total. The friend I was with traded in her three CS credits and all she got were three Snickers.

When exchanging 1 CS for 3 snacks, does the CM actually convert the credits on your card? Or do you just pick out 3 snack items, take them to the checkout, and say that you want to pay for the 3 items using 1 CS credit?

Thanks!

we have been able to do 3 snacks for one counter service at POP Century, POFQ and Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary, as recently as Fall 2010

Have seen people turned down in parks, though (trying to buy Minnie's Bake Shop cookies at a store in AK and use counter service credit...clerk told them they would have to go to a restaurant to do that, they could only ring up snack items with actual snack credits...he said his computer couldn't convert credits.) So it could be you can get a trade at an actual counter service restaurant or bakery...just ask before you "shop"

The problem at CSR is the restaurants there are NOT Disney-owned...they are all run by contracted company so they tend to be tight on the rules and not willing to exchange any credits for anything different. I don't think you'd run into requiring a straight one-for-one at any of the other Disney resorts.

When you look at a CS credit you have Drink, Dessert and Entree.

If you talk to a CS at almost any location and see if you can sub your entree for a second 'dessert' you will be allowed to do this.

Grab a bottled drink and two desserts - voila - three 'snacks' for a CS credit and no hassle with converting anything.

They don't change the actual credits on the card they just ring it through as a CS credit when they scan the 3 items
