Just curious if a DVC owner can trade his DVC property to a nonowner for let's say a car? Just curious.
It's an interesting thought though. I wonder if you could sell the interest but price it as "one 2004 Chrysler 300M" instead of $ per point?
Actually it can be done but it is essentially selling one and buying the other. I have done this by trading timeshares. I traded a fixed week in Aruba for a 50 point OKW contract even. DVC did come back and ask we redo the contract with a dollar amount for each item. My first inclination was to say know and see what they said but I wanted the DVC contract more than I wanted to push the principle at the time. Fortunately it the values were essentially the same and it was reasonable to price them both near the DVC retail sale price and do so honestly. Had DVC taken it under ROFR, I would have gotten a good but fair price on the Aruba unit.Just curious if a DVC owner can trade his DVC property to a nonowner for let's say a car? Just curious.
Your sig says you're an AKL founding member....does that mean your family name is on the tapestry's in the library?

I asked Disney and they said it depends on the year and make of the car.

You don't actually need to have a closing company do it but you may want one. It is not a requirement.FYI... DVC rep that I spoke with this AM, said that they did not see any problem with the trade. She said, basically it the same thing as an exchange (sale and purchase). We would just need to have a liscened rep do the paper work. Not for sure if we are going to do it or not, but I will keep you posted.
