Or view the rooms of other DVC resorts without staying there. We own at SSR and I would like to see what the rooms look like at other resorts and such.

Is there a way to do this if we are down there? I would like to know in case I want to add on in the future just in case I want to add on somewhere besides SSR.

We had a tour around the Boardwalk in August.

Just arrived and asked nicely if we could see one of the rooms, they were really helpful and a guide showed us around without any sales talk.

SSR has the model open, at the other resorts - it just deoends on whether they have a sales associate available and an open room that is ready for a tour with no guest checking in or out - this is what the OKW DVC rep told us about the other resorts - it's sort of hit or miss - but he said to always ask. We asked at the BWV when we were there - but there weren't any rooms open (right at F & W time) - she did say we could try back in about 2 hours - that a room was being cleaned - but we didn't want to hang around that long. :flower:

When I was there in August, they had a model of the BWV open right off the Boardwalk. There was a sign saying open house or something like that with the DVC sales guide inside and we just went in and looked around.

Shortly before we joined, went over to VWL and asked to tour a room, but they said they were too full. However, when we were staying at OKW (after we joined), we were in a studio, but called and asked if we could see a 2 BR, for a possible future family trip. A few minutes later, a nice CM showed up with a golf cart, drove us over to an empty one, DH was blown away seeing it, and yes, you can guess where the family celebration trip was.

I wonder why the BWV model wasn't open last fall? We would have loved to see it! Oh well.....

I don't think they have any dedicated model rooms remaining at the Boardwalk. Prior to SSR's opening, all DVC sales were handled out of offices on the Boardwalk. Recently that space was converted to normal guest rooms at the Boardwalk. Some of those rooms have patios that open-up right at the Boardwalk.

From TammyAlphabet's description, it sounds like DVC may hold an inpromptu open house in one of those BW-level units when the resort is at less than 100% occupancy. But I doubt that it is a regularly-scheduled event.

When we were at WDW in September we took a walk over to SSR. We had seen it last year but wanted to take another look at the different units. The woman who took us to the units said we could probably see the other DVC locations by calling ahead and speaking with someone at the front desk of the resort we wanted to see and if a unit was available CMs are usually willing to show you one or all of the sizes. We were in rooms 5007 and 5009 On Oct. 15 - 22, directly above the BWV Open House room. The Open House room is right next to Big River Grille. It looks to me as though this room was designed for this purpose, though it may eventually be used for guests. All of the other BW level rooms have a fence and shrubs/trees surrounding the patio area (to provide some security). The Open House room does not - it has a sidewalk entrance to the BW.

We walked into the Boardwalk open house this August also. It was right on the Boardwalk and definitely a model-not an actual room. The DVC sales guy was in there.

That would be a nifty room to get at the BWV once they no longer need it as an open house model!
