DH and I are leaving for a kid-free trip in a couple of weeks. We are taking the trip at a new pace and haven't planned any breakfast ADR's. ;)

We are staying at our new home, BCV, and I am interested in hearing some feedback on Fresh at the Dolphin.

Is this a place that typically requires a reservation? I'm thinking since its not on the DDP it might be enough off the beaten path to allow us some flexibility.

The menus look really interesting. There are a few photos posted on the food porn thread but I was looking to see if anyone had any others or any comments?

Does anyone know how early they start serving breakfast? How about lunch, when do they stop serving?

TIA :thumbsup2

Can't help with the hours or lunch. BUt we've done breakfast there a few times and never made any reservations. The 3 times we've been it has been fairly crowded, but not mobbed. As you suggest it is off the DDP beaten path. The only way it might get crowded is if Swan/Dolphin has multiple conventions or meetings. Many of the customers when we ate there were attending meetings at the Hotels.
The place is essentially a buffet with most things made fresh--including all the pancakes, eggs and waffles. They have a few side meats, specialty sausage and the like, along with some different juice selections. It is all quite good. The only drawback is actually waiting for your food--there isn't a whole lot of room at the cooking station, and sometimes it can be backed up two or three customers ahead of you as they prepare the food.

Thank you for your feedback. Maybe the fact that nobody is talking about Fresh is a good thing??? ;) There is one set of photos from here on the Categorized Food Porn Thread.

I am planning to give it a try. It will be an easy walk from BCV and on the way towards DHS. After breakfast we can even walk to the park to work off the meal.

I regret not trying it while we were guests at the Dolphin last year. The buffet looked very good, and you can use a AAA card to get a small discount off your meal.

went for breakfast jan 2008. 10am reservation. by the time we were seated, went over the menu with server, got coffee it was about 1020.
went to get fresh fruit at table and some juice.
went back about 1045 for a danish , they had started to disassemble the fruit/bread station. 1/2 the ready made food pans were empty. (scramble eggs, potatos, meat)
waited for those, then one of our party wanted an omelet, one a waffle.
at 1055am, waffle iron was off, they had to turn it on and wait to heat up, one omelet station was disassembled, had to wait for 3 other omelets all at one burner.
when they say close at 11, they mean 11. not at all like disney service.
and $10.00 to park too!!!

Thanks for the info! We would definately be stopping in here earlier in the morning (8ish) so I'm hoping they would still be serving strong!! We would be walking from BCV so parking wouldn't be an issue for us, but good to know just the same.
