I have heard from the switch board at disney that you CAN take a wagon in the parks and then i have read here that you CAN NOT?! so now i am very confused? anyone with either the answer or fist hand experience please let me know. thanks

I am pretty sure you cannot take anything in that is pulled behind you for safety reasons (wagons, rolling backpacks, etc.). Perhaps someone else can confirm, but I have always heard that rule in the parks.

nothing pulled,no pulled wagons, no pulled rolling backpacks........only pushed thingspopcorn::

I was just recently reading the rules about that somewhere on-line this weekend. It may have been the WDW website, I'm not sure.

But definitely no wagons.

thanks all..well it looks like i am buyin a double stroller b4 april 22...i know i know i can rent at the parks but i would love to have a stroller from them for gettin out of the parks to the bus etc. maybe i cam find a stroller swap? but thanks again

I know first hand at DisneyLand.....after calling and asking before we packed the wagon on the 20+hr drive....we were told no problem on the phone...but once we arrived at the gate with the two kids and the wagon...we were sent away:confused: So from experience....NO wagons or anything that's pulled behind you is allowed.

Seeing that we didn't plan to 'rent' a stroller for both girls and our budget was TIGHT we opted for renting a wheelchair (I don't know what the costs are for those things now...this was 11 yrs ago). Going this route ended up being the cheepest way for us to push both the girls around PLUS it came in handy for when DH or myself needed to sit a while...or at parades (instead of sitting on the ground we had a seat)

Wheelchairs are not that comfortable for putting kids in (or anyone who is not at least 5 feet tall). The kids I have seen in the park rental wheelchairs look very uncomfortable. The seats are plastic sling seats, with plastic sling backs. So, it's similar to putting 2 kids together in a director's chair - they slide to the middle and end up kind of squished together.
Plus, the armrests will turn out anywhere from mid-chest to neck high; not comfortable to rest arms on. And, because the seats are deep enough for an adult to sit, if the kids sit all the way back, the bend of their knee comes before the edge of the seat, so their legs are stuck straight out. If the kids are sitting far enough forward that their legs can bend, they have no back support.

If you need to economize, it would be much more comfortable for the kids to trade of using a single stroller.

well as far as a single stroller..my kids are only 3 1/2 yrs old so i dont think i could take the chance of just one walking. I have single umbrella strollers are home use when i go some place with my hubby or grandparent. but for dw i think i will get a cheap double stroller. thanks again

Just keep in mind that if you take a stroller, you will have to have it totally empty and folded down when you get on the busses. And the trams. And please do not stop in the door of the bus to fold it down, as you will have an angry mob behind you.;)

Where do you live? Do you have a twins club? If not, I'm sure there are some used kids sales somewhere in your area where you can pick up a double stroller. I got mine at a thrift store for $10.

yes i have a twins club and i am a memember and i chrck there and either the others have sold theirs or they are infants and need them. i am goin to check around and see if any 2nd hand stores have them etc. thanks

Plus, unless the children need a wheelchair, you may be depriving a person who actually needs to use one at the parks. Sometimes you don't have one, but the park is too big to make it without a w/c. I know I used a cane on our last trip, but a w/c might have been a big help once in a while.

Someone posted on the budget board that walmart had a double for around $80, probably less then renting one. If I only needed/wanted it for the parks then I might rent, making it easier to not have one parent in charge of stroller and things and other in charge of kids on and off the bus/tram/monorail. It is not the easiest thing and we only had one stroller and one kid. BUT that being said, I much prefer my own stroller and to have it all the time, we just don't take the buses because we drive to the world.

well jessica that would be great having one parent in charge of stroller and the other in charge of kids but this trip it is just me and the kids..daddy cant make it

You could also rent a double from an offsite company such as ABBF; they will deliver the stroller to your resort so that you can use it throughout the trip, in and out of the parks.

I don't know about other kids...but my girls were VERY comfortable in the w/c. Yes they did sorta slide to the middle but it wasn't an issue. I can totally see how it could be for some kids though. Matter of fact my girls were so comfortable in it we caught them napping quite offten in it.

I do agree and understand the need for w/c for those that 'need' it and not for general kid use. BUT if you understood the budget we were on there was NO way we could manage renting two strollers last min and there was no way we were going to get our little girls to walk long distances around Disneyland. So for us at that time it was the only option we had. Yes...we could have rented a single stroller instead...but believe me the girls would have been misreable either sitting on one another or by having to walk to much.

It does sound like buying a double is the way to go for you, and a backpack. Folding the stroller is a pain, hopefully your children stay in one place better than my 3 1/2 year old. :) Good luck and have fun!
