Can you take food into AK?

I saw something that said you can't take coolers into Animal Kingdom, now that was a couple years old, but is that true? So, no bringing packed lunches in? What about bringing a water bottle and some snacks?

You can't take coolers into any parks. Small ones yea, but nothing big. You can food and drinks into the park though. The only thing they frown upon is fountain drinks because of the plastic straw. They've asked me to throw mine away upon entering. But plastic closeable bottles are fine

Yes same rules as the other parks just no plastic straws, even on juice boxes.

i have to ask, why specifically not plastic straws? but plastic bottles are fine?
i know at AK they give you papertype recylced staws but never understood why you cant take in plastic staws?

if animals eat a plastic straw, it can cause major problems. Some kid drops a straw into a water area or other places, and it could be injested. That is why there are only paper straws in AK.
