Can you take backpacks in the parks?

With all the hype on security, I didn't know if you were allowed to still bring these in the parks. We went in March and it was no problem, but some things have changed since then. Anyone recently been able to take bookbags in the parks?

Just took one last week. They'll search it, but other than that, you should have no problem.
