Can you take an ECV on the boat between Epcot and the Studios?

Just trying to figure out transportation options for my grandmother and her ECV.

The park rental ECVs can't be removed from rhe park they were rented in.
They also have a very large bumper that prevents them from being able to take the boat that goes across the World Showcase Lagoon.

Other outside rental and personal ECVs can be brought on the boats that go between Epcot, the Epcot area resorts and the Studio.

Oh, I should have mentioned we will be getting an ECV from a rental company.

DW (nanajod) was not allowed onto a boat because there were already 2 ECV's on the boat.

i had some fairly strong words with the captain to no avail and DW got a bit anxious, so we walked from EPCOT thru BW to the studios (and beat the boat).
