Can you take a travel iron or is it against the fire code?

I believe that you are not allowed to bring a personal iron for your room, based on fire safety considerations. There are irons in the laundry rooms, but I can't say what kind of shape they're in, or what the demand for them is.

No irons or steamers are permitted in the staterooms. There are irons available in the laundry rooms for no charge. People also meniton that the cost to have items pressed by DCL is rather minimal. Also consider packing some Downy wrinkle releaser.

I beg to differ with the other two, but you CAN take your OWN iron, the rules just state you just can't USE them in your room. Although, I will say we did. AND I'll do it next time we cruise. Go ahead, flame me, I don't care.. I'm surprisingly able to remember to unplug it when we're done. The condition of the irons on board isn't good. You'll possible get lovely brown water stains on your clothes.
