I am just doing carry on going back from WDW. I bought a small Minnie Mouse snow glob last year and wanted to buy a Mickey this trip. I can put my thumb and pointer finger around the glob so it is small, but I was not sure if I could take it on the plane.

They won't allow them in carry-on regardless of size. I had a very small one coming back from WDW a few years ago. I was told no because they had no way to verify the amount of liquid in the globe. I thought it was a bit ridiculous since it was tiny, but regardless. On a second trip back, I even heard the announcing it in the security line, so I suspect they must run across those fairly often.

Yes - snow globes are now allowed in carryon luggage if they "apear to have" 3.4oz or less.

Link to the TSA webstie-
http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items
Scroll down to the bottom - other Items:

"Snow globes (unless otherwise prohibited)** OK OK
**Snow globes that appear to contain less than 3.4 ounces (approximately tennis ball size) will be permitted if the entire snow globe, including the base, is able to fit in the same one clear, plastic, quart-sized, re-sealable bag, as the passenger’s other liquids, such as shampoo, toothpaste and cosmetics. "

Its up to you if you want to take the chance !

Thank you for the info, the snowglobe will fit in the quart size bag with my other items with no problem. I thought that I had read about this, but could not locate it on the TSA website

Interesting. Wonder when that changed?

Two years ago I bought my kids cups w/ the tiny snow globe in the bottom on our last day. I totally forgot about not putting them in checked luggage and TSA confiscated them. Luckily the agent walked me (and the snow globes) back outside of security and I was able to exchange them at the Disney Store at the airport.

Iam pretty sure the change was just within the past few months, I was sure that I had seen a post about it here, but I could be wrong
