Can you switch resorts using a pin code

after the pin code expired? I can book value now but may need a larger room if my niece comes along. Or the reverse if I book a mod now can I downgrade later and still keep the pin code?

I had booked at POP (value) about 8 weeks ago. The week before last I received a 20/30/40 pin code, and was able to upgrade to a Deluxe. It still costs a little more, but the space and comfort at the end of a long Disney day was worth it to me. I'm not sure if you could "downgrade" and it also depends on room availability. I read a few other posters here trying to upgrade from value to mod or deluxe, but the rooms/resorts they wanted didn't have any availability for the discount rate.
