I have got a Marriott Rewards credit card thru Chase and I have HAD IT with Marriott Rewards. They are impossible to redeem. Can I switch the card to a different program, or would I have to apply for a new card for something else...basically ANY thing other than Marriott. Grrrrrr

Hi!

YMMV, but when I called to try and switch my basic card to a Disney Visa, I was told it couldn't be done. Best bet is to give 'em a jingle, I'd say.

On the debit card you can switch programs. I had a airline rewards card and switched it to ultimate rewards. They offer a Disney Visa but not for a basic debit card. For a credit card they most likely won't be able to switch you since they are different cards.

Marriott is just awful. With as many points as I have, I ought to be able to do something with them. Ugh

I have switched, but it was years ago. I started with a United rewards program, switched to something else, then to Disney. I was able to get the bonus with Disney ($50 at the time), but it took some convincing. If I didn't have such a high credit limit, I would have just opened the new card with the bonus and cancelled the old. -- Suzanne
