Can you suggest a resort for a 22month old?

We are hopefully headed to Disney World next summer for my daughter's first time!!! She will be 22 months at the time. She's a very active, happy child and we are trying to decide what resort would be best. It will just be my husband, me, and our daughter. Last time, we used the on property transportation and probably will again. Also, I can get the Dolphin for 129 a night with a teacher discount. We found it quite comfy for our honeymoon there, but where wondering about it with a toddler. Anyone been recently with a toddler? WE are open to any suggestions, but we can't afford the really expensive hotels unless we get a really, really good deal. Thanks for any ideas or input!

I think it really depends on how well she sleeps and if shes really into anything special.

When we went and our youngest was 11 mos and he napped and crashed early, we staying in a one bedroom at OKW. This way we could close the door on him and still talk and make noise.

When we went just after his second birthday, he was really really into Toy Story. So we stayed at the ASM in the Toy Story Wing.

If you're planning on daily naps, you might consider a monorail resort for easier transportation.

We loved staying at the Contemp. and the ease of getting into MK and back for afternoon swims 2 years ago. But that 129 rate at Dolphin is hard to beat, you can easily get to Epcot and MGM. We are staying at Dolphin for first time in 2 weeks for 139. We love to be close to the Parks, either on monorail or Boardwalk area.

We took our 22 month daughter dd in Dec 2001 and did a split stay between PO-Riverside and the Beach Club. I had such high hopes for the conveinence of the beach club and it was great for MGM but we spent most of our time at the MK and wished we had stayed at the Poly, which is what we're doing this Jan with DD's 4 and 20 months. That bus ride to the MK was long and it stopped at BC, YC, BW and Swan & Dolphin. TOO MUCH!! If you can't swing a monorail resort, stay at WL. At least you'll be close!

Good Luck!

The $129 rate at the Dolphin is the best deal in town. You get a deluxe resort for a moderate rate, and I must disagree with Wampy. The location is perfect for that age. We took our 3 yo and 1 yo. Even though it was right before July 4th, the bus transportation at MK was wonderful. We spent half our trip at MK, but also went to MGM and Epcot. The best scenario is to do 1/2 day at one park and 1/2 at another. We came back to the room for an afternoon nap and/or swim, so it worked out well. The Grotto pool is wonderful. When my kids are older, I would like to stay at an MK resort but for now I'm at the Dolphin. They are very happy taking the bus to MK and think that the boat to MGM is another ride. The Dolphin is great in so many ways. Did I mention the location?

Thanks so much for your suggestions. I guess I'll cross my fingers and hope for some discounts on a monorail resort or WL. Anyone get any really good prices on a monorail resort in July or the last week of June? these are really the only times that we can go. Thanks again!
