Can you suggest a mod?

We are going for our second trip this fall. (DH, me, DD 13 and DS 10) First trip was last fall at Pop. It was fine. This year we have the budget for a mod. Kids like to swim and I like hot tubs. My main priorities are easy transportation to parks and cleanliness when it comes to rooms. Would love some suggestions on a mod.

First Go Vols!

Second: I would recommend Port Orleans French Quarter! We just love it there. It is a smaller resort with only one bus stop. All the rooms seem close to the food court and bus stop. People talk about having to share buses with Port Orleans Riverside, but when we stayed there we did not share buses. The food court has some yummy beignets and there are boats that will take you to Disney Springs. There is a hot tub!

Happy Planning!

We've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside a number of times and really like it. The food court is considered one of the better on property, they've got a really nice pool, a hot tub (which can get crowded) and I really enjoy the grounds. My understanding (we haven't stayed at other mods) is that Port Orleans generally has good transportation compared to other mods. As with any of the resorts, the buses can get crowded at peak times. The Port Orleans resorts also have the boat to Downtown Disney, which is a nice perk.

I'm a big CBR fan and would stay value before staying at any of the other mods personally. It is calm and peaceful and I have never had more bus issues there than anywhere else (because EVERY place occasionally has bus issues - let's be honest).

The mods are fairly similar. I'd argue CSR to have the best slide for kids those ages, and has the biggest hot tub.

But otherwise, mods are pretty similar. Look at the themes and decide which suits you best. If you're from the south already, it's entirely likely the Port Orleans family won't speak to you, for instance, but the tropical theme of CBR or the southwestern vibe at CSR might.

I have to agree with CBR.....we are staying at the Poly (DELUXE!!!!) this October for my birthday, but if we weren't able to do that, I would've gone back to CBR. Our 8 yr old sone even preferred it over AoA. Very peaceful, pretty resort. We never really had any bus issues there.

My family prefers the Port Orleans resorts, either side. We love the grounds and the pool is nice on both sides also. With the age of your children, I think Coronado Springs would be a very good choice. The pool is great there and as someone else mentioned a good slide too! The food court has a good variety of food and the buses are great.

Another vote for CBR. We loved the atmosphere, pool, and food court. We also thought the transportation was great as we found it very quick and efficient.

And another vote for CBR here. It is our favorite Moderate.

We really enjoyed POFQ last time. We were in the farthest building from the entrance but it was only a 5 min walk and doable with tired kids at the end of the day. We usually had direct buses (shared with POR sometimes in the afternoon) and we never had to wait for more than one. The theming in the entrance is a little garish IMO but there's a fun fountain the kids liked and the rooms are nice. It's fun to ride the boats to DS and it's a really nice walk over to POR for a meal (that resort has a bigger CS restaurant and TS restaurant).

I would have to vote for CBR. I had no bus issues when I was there and the resort was very clean. It is spread out so walking from one point to another might be a hike but overall it is my favorite mod.

CBR is my least favorite Mod. I did not enjoy my stay there at all. We loved POFQ. Everything is nearby, the boats to DS are nice and in the few times it shared busses with POR you were picked up & dropped off first. I enjoyed the New Orleans theme.
I agree with other PP. look at pictures & pick a theme you like
Enjoy

POR! And here is the well done, up to the minute, unofficial but wonderful, web site by Andre. It has all the information you need to plan your stay.

We have stayed at both CBR and POR and liked both resorts very much! I would look at the pictures of each resort on the Walt disney world website and pick the theme you like the best! Have fun!!

We love both Port Orleans, but POR has become my home resort. After staying at each of the moderates, POR gives me that disney feeling, so it the one we keep going back to. I'm gonna miss it this year, but also excited for our first deluxe stay!

We have stayed at CSR, POR, and POFQ. The pool/slide is by far the best at CSR out of those 3. Transportation was pretty good at POFQ and CSR. Not so great both times at POR. The small size is great at POFQ because there isn't a lot of walking at the resort. We also really liked the one bus stop. Theming is definitely best at POR though. So our conclusion if it's a shorter trip without much planned pool time or a winter trip it will be POFQ and if it's a longer trip where we want lots of relaxing pool time we head to CSR.
