I was just wondering if the Magical Moment Pins still worked in the attractions at the parks. I had bought them two years ago and would like to use them again when I go down in a week and a half. I still have some new batteries that I can put in them.

Thanks for any replies,

Janice

You can,so put in new batteries and enjoy.Have a great vacation.:wizard: :goodvibes :wave2:

Yep! Mine worked wonderfully in August. I got lots of looks and stares from people. I was even used in a training demonstration for a new castmember concerning what pins they are not allowed to trade. The trainer said I was the first person he had come across in his week of training her that had the magical moments pin. You might just be the only person in the parks wearing one! Enjoy the attention.

The Magical Moments pins were specially made for the 100 yrs celebration. They are bigger than normal pins like those that are traded. They light up and vibrate at certain attractions, during parades and when characters are nearby. They are really cool to have at night or inside a dark attraction like Haunted Mansion.

Just so you know they also came out with a whole new set. They light up as well and also plays games and such. I didnt buy any this time but they did look nice.

if you are interested in buying one ,I got one a month or so ago on ebay but couldn't find any in the disney store or at other pin sites(maybe because they aren't "trade worthy?")( I think i got it for about $7plus sh&h.

I have one from last September that I'd like to wear again in Dec. What kind of batteries do they take?

They take 2 #2032 watch battries.::yes:: :wave2:

We leave in 2 days!:hyper: My kids read about the Magical Moments Pins and have said that is the first thing they want to get. Where can they be purchased? Only in the parks or are they available at the resort shops too? We're staying at the Yacht Club on the concierge floor - I'd thought about having the concierge get them for the kids and have them in the room - but I wasn't sure which pin they would want. I'd like to make our first stop in the parks somewhere that they can get their pins. Thanks for your help!

Does anyone know how much the new ones cost in the parks?

Janice, have ANOTHER great trip in case I don't see you before you leave! :wave:

Hello....just a word of caution on the pins. We got a set when they first came out and they were great....we loved them. The next year we took three children(young adults) with us, so we ordered them pins for their Christmas stockings. We all went to WDW in January...they did not work.
Apparently, going through security at the airport messed them up. We were fortunate...Disney was gracious and exchanged them for us. When we got home...we checked....and again, the airport security zapped them again!!! I cannot remember if we took the batteries out on the return trip or not...maybe that would help. We are returning again this January....and, no doubt, we will buy more pins once we arrive. They are totally too cool!!:earsboy:

Question on a different note....how does one utililize the "Countdown to disney" on a message????

Thanks....have a great day!

go to the technical support board( on the list on the home page of the forums0 and it has easy to follow directions ...just doe exactly what they tell you and it works! ( for the countdown)

We got ours during the Hundred Years celebration...our first WDW visit. We took them back down for our next trip and they did not work. I was unaware that the security stops at the airport could stop them from working properly. I thought it was the batteries. By the way these pins, one for each park for the celebration, were $15 a pc.

If you are interested in these pins from the 100 Years of Magic celebration and have access to the outlet stores, I found them at the Character Premier Outlet in the Belz Outlet Mall. I believe the store in Mall #2. They had them for around $3. There was a ton of them also.
No guarantee they will still be in stock, but it doesn't hurt to check out the Character Outlet anyway. They usually have some great finds.

does anyone know what the airport scanners do to these pins? I have mine from the 100 years celebration and was bringing it with us on Friday. I even bought new batteries for it since I figured the ones that were in it were dead. Now I'm wondering if I should bring it at all if the scanners at the airport already zapped it.

any thoughts?

I can't imagine why the security scanners would do anything to them. We've taken ours back for two trips after our first trip with them, through the airport and back, and had no problem with them. -HM

my computer is acting up today so hopefully this did not post already but;

do you need one for each park or will they work for all parks? mine is for AK but wil lit work in Mk too? Thanks ( hope this works this time)
