In the past we would always go under the rope and stand behind the people who are next to those tall light fixtures which always provided a good spot. That way we where able to do both WOC and Fantasmic back to back but is this still possible? I don't really wanna waste my time having to now get a fastpass the first thing after entering the park and afterwords waiting an hour for the show to start like with WOC. It doesn't make much sense in general why they suddenly felt the need to introduce a fastpass system here anyway.

thanks!

Huh? Nobody here seen Fantasmic since they introduced fastpass for it?

You can go and stand on the boat launch dock for the Mark Twain. That's where people without fastpasses go to wait, if there's any space left they'll find you somewhere.

Fastpass is for priority/best seating now. You're probably going to have to stand and wait either way, I don't know if they let people slip in right as the show is starting or not.

I would not count on being able to slip into one of the FP viewing areas for F! without a FPs. There are CMs at the entrances and along the ropes making sure that guests have the correct FP to enter the show. I saw them checking for FPs right up until the show started the last time I was there (I didn't watch the CMs once the show started, so I don't know if they were still checking FPs while the show was being presented, but given that they were still there when the show ended, I'm guessing they were). As offwithyourhead said, you're best bet is going to be the standby viewing area if you don't want to wait or get a FP. It's not an ideal view and it does fill up quickly, so if you wait until the last minute, you'll probably end up in the very back or far to the side.

While I would also never count on slipping in, if you're around for the second show it is worth trying. We saw the second show twice this summer from a great spot on the bridge (both times) after asking and being allowed to stand there.
