I have been trying to find out what it is called but there is a wall with plaques that I think you can pay so much for to have your family name put on.Does anyone know if it is still availible to do or if any other parks do anything similar.I always study it when I go and for the life of me cannot remember what they call it.:confused3

Thanks

you can still do it think it is called LEAVE A LEGACY, something like that anyway. Seemed like income generation to me or am i too sinical.

someone posted on here that they were going to stop doing these sometime in june or july. apparently its not really such a good money maker as disney thought itd be

It is being stopped soon - it was never popular, and I understand they are doing the bricks again (but for around $300!!!!)

It is Leave a Legacy $25 for a picture of 1 or 2 people for 50 years.

We did one in 2005 and had fun searching it out last year and will take a peek next trip, and the one after that and the one after that.

It's a shame if it's been stopped but I can see why it doesnt make money for Disney at $25 as it cant be much less than that for the photo taking then carving onto steel then attaching to the brick. Also you get 2 copies of the photo in the post.

We did this in April. We had our family name done as we think it will be a nice thing to look out for on future visits.

I can understand why they would stop doing this as it's hardly a money-spinner, but I'm very glad we got ours done in time! :)

Our "Leave a Legacy" tiles were done a few years ago and the children always make a beeline for the tiles every time we go to Epcot.

Would I pay $300.00 for a brick ?? Probably not.

HI - Do you know if they are doing new bricks or are they replacing the old ones - I've got 2 - 1 in front of MK entrance and 1 at the wedding pavillion and a couple of years ago I enquired about replacing them (as they have been there 12 yrs and 9 yrs) and they said they weren't replacing them and were just putting in blanks if any got broken??!!

I know its expensive but my Dad bought me the stones before he died and I really wanted them to stay where they were!!

Plus do you know who I could ring to find out??

Oh no! I hope it's still open when we go in August. When we went our very first time in 1999, but saw it and thought 'oh that's cool, maybe next time' when we save up for it. Then we went a second time, but with a friend of my mum's and it wasn't exactly a good trip, so didn't get to do it then (2001). Then we didn't get to go again until last year when our grandad died, and we were gonna do one as a sort of tribute to him, but we went on an extremely tight budget, so all luxuries (including decent meals :rotfl: ) were out of the question. This year though, we'd made the decision to do it and have included it in our budget, and now it might not be available?!?! Typical! *keeps fingers crossed*
