Reading some of the older threads a couple different people have mentioned they won't have to pay the $10 parking fee because they have the AAA Diamond Parking Pass. I thought that was a perk for booking a whole package through AAA, but they're talking about staying offsite at vacation homes and condos?

Can you just buy tickets through AAA and get the pass? Is the pass good only for the number of days you buy tickets (we'll be staying for over 3 weeks so we'll be doing Annual Pass) or can I buy a one day ticket to get the parking pass and then use that one day towards my AP? Can AAA book the vacation homes even if they aren't on their website? I don't care who books it, in fact a part of me is nervous at the thought of paying so much for something sight-unseen and not knowing anything about the management company I'd be buying from.....and not knowing what questions to ask to be sure I get what I think I'm getting! So having AAA be involved with hopefully all their experience in asking the right questions and being there if something goes wrong sound nice. Actually thinking of asking Grandma to go peek in the windows of the house we're considering....the paranoid part of me wonders if the photos are old and the house now rivals the "Money Pit" house, :rotfl2: etc.

Anyone know anything about Indian Ridge? That's the location of the house we're considering.

You can only get the AAA parking pass if you purchase a package from AAA with hotel room included.

If you have an AP you get free parking too. Just show the AP to the attendant and they will wave you through.

Thanks! I thought it was too good to be true, lol.

I knew the AP would get my free parking, but I obviously won't have it the first day, so do I just have to pay or is there some way to tell them I'm getting AP's and come back and show them and get a refund? Is there somewhere other than through the mail that you can get an AP (I won't want to activate it obviously until we arrive in mid-January). Or somewhere off site near WDW?

every state is different.

in ala to get parking pass you just need to get wdw tickets.

so it depends upon what your AAA says.

that say on the ticket itself - it says it NOT A PARKING FREE. it just gives you a better place to park.

you would still have to pay the $10 fee to park at the WDW theme parks. the $10 fee is good all day and even if you change parks - as long as you kept the park ticket you receive you won't pay again to park that day.

Wow, really? I'd heard it was free parking and a special "Diamond" area set aside for only AAA that was a bit closer to the park. Can you combine this better parking with the free AP parking? Is the length of the better parking pass only how long your tickets were?

Guess I better stop by my AAA and see what they say?

In our experience the past 2 years, we received a AAA Diamond Parking pass from our local AAA office just by stopping in and asking for it. We did not have our trip planned through AAA, but we are AAA members. They were friendly and polite about giving it to us after showing our card. I understand that some offices will not give them out unless your travel is made through them...this was not the case for us.

The pass does not give you free parking, just lets you park closer to the park entrance. If I recall, the closest Diamond lot is at the AK. Hope this information helps you!

yes you can definitely combine it with free AP parking.

no the length of the AAA parking pass is the year. It use to be forever - but I think Disney make them change it.

hey I will try it! since I get an annual pass I don't need the tickets.

I bought one child's ticket through AAA and obtained the Diamond parking voucher. (I bought the other tickets from less expensively elsewhere!)

I will confirm that it's not FREE parking, but it allows you to park in a closer lot near the entrance of the parks - right next to the handicapped parking lot.

Same situation in our state - You must buy at least one ticket to get the parking pass.

As others have said, it's good for the year (it will have 2007 printed on the end of it) with some blackout dates (only a few). You are able to park right behind the handicapped parking unless the AAA area is full (then you'll be directed to the regular parking area).

It definitely does NOT get you free parking.

Don't know anything about the parking pass, but we are heading to Indian Ridge in August, and looking forward to it.
