Can you stay at one Marriott and swim at another?

Hi all. Sister is staying at Marriott Grande Vista but would like to know if she can go swimming at the Marriott Horizons. Has anyone ever done this and if so, how close are the hotels? Thank you!

They're a pretty short drive apart, perhaps a mile or so, but not walkable.

Marriott does not have a policy of permitting pool-hopping between their resorts, sorry. :sad2:

They look close on the map, but they're really not walking distance apart. You'd need to drive.

gee I though they did - might be only for members.

also they are directly across from each other - aren't they?

The OP asked about Grande Vista and Horizons. As you note, Horizons and Cypress Harbour are, indeed, right across Westwood Boulevard from one another. But Grande Vista is about a mile or so away just off International Drive.

These three Marriotts do not share facilities with each others' guests.

How about staying at the Marriott Village? My son's track club stayed there one year. There are three Marriott hotels in the same vicinity, with a shared food court/shopping area. Each hotel had it's own pools, but you can pool hop.

I know that the MVC Imperial palms, Sabal palms, and Royal palms, get to use the huge pool and resort amenities at the Marriott World hotel.

It must be on a case by case basis.

True. These three "resorts" are more like three areas within one larger resort. They share common grounds and when you check-in, they specfically tell you that some activities take place in each area but that you're welcome to participate in any of them, including use of the pools. I guess I don't really think of that as pool-hopping since you never leave the property.

When we stayed at MGV years ago, I remember asking if we could use the pool at the MOWC hotel (it has a pool slide) and we were told, quite clearly I'm afraid, that guests are only supposed to use the pools at their own resort, only the guests at the resorts on shared grounds with MOWC could use that pool. And yes, Cypress Harbour was offlimits too. I would guess they want people who like the Horizons pools to buy there, not just visit as day guests.

This isn't really that clear, is it? After all, the activities and beach access at the Hilton Head Island Marriotts are often open to guests staying at other area Marriotts too.... but not the swimming pools! :confused3 :sad2:

Thanks all for the responses! I hadn't realized there were so many Marriotts.
