Can you stand more questions from me?

I tried to save them up so I wouldn't have to post so many new threads!

1) How often does a new edition of the Passporter come out? Should I just buy the current one now for our Oct. 2006 cruise?

2) Is the family pool very crowded (compared to like the kids/adult pool)? I'm wondering how big the pools are. Can anyone compare it to the size of pools at WDW resorts?

3) If the ship can't dock at Castaway Cay does it go somewhere else or do you just have another sea day?

4) Are there disposable cups by the drink stations or do you need to bring your own?

5) We have a cat 12 GTY cabin booked. Will we know our cabin assignment before we leave home or not till we board the ship?

6) Do you have to schedule the character breakfast or does everyone automatically have it scheduled for them?

7) How do they monitor ages at the adult only activities/pool, etc? I'm asking because my DS will be 18 (turning 19) when we cruise. I wouldn't want other cruisers looking at him (or us) negatively thinking he was too young to be there. He looks pretty young (to me anyway!) Of course that's a year away.

8) So on the 7 night Western there's a semi-formal, formal and pirate night? Can anyone tell me what nights these are scheduled? I'm also confused about the different appropriate dress between semi-formal and formal. We won't be wearing tuxes & formal dresses on formal night so how would this differ for us?

Thanks so much for any help!

I will answer what I can.
1) Yes I would get the book now. You can get news and updates online.

2) Pools get very crowed. They are very small. They are smaller than any resort pool that I am aware of at WDW resorts.

3) You get a day a sea. Unless you are on the 4 -day Wonder than they might switch your day at sea and try again the next day.

4) Yes there are paper cups with lids and straw at the drink station.

1. not sure
2. depends on time of day if crowded, they're much less crowded while at port... the family pool isn't huge but is comfortable.. Mickey is much bigger and adult pool is about same size as goofy pool.

3.not sure
4. disposable cups are there.
5.depends, it may be in your booklets when you get those, sometimes not til you get to the port... no biggie, you may get upgraded anyway :)

6. automatically scheduled and don't want to miss!
7. not sure, but i've never had a problem with people looking at you for anything to make you feel akward in any way.
8. Formal, pirate/tropical, and casual... you dont HAVE to participate in any of the dress recomendations... you'll see a lot of prom dresses etc. but many guys just have dress pants and nice polo on. you'll see a big range so don't worry at all! they do have the backgrounds for pictures, and the characters dressed accordingly if you want pictures!!!

HOPE THAT HELPS A LITTLE :)

(1) The current Passporter DCL guide was released May 15, 2005. I'm not sure if they do them annually or biannually, but go ahead and buy the current one as you obviously need something to feed your obsession. The only major omission is that it doesn't have info on online booking of excursions and reservations; that was too recent a change to make it into the book. Also the Marx's are great people, and have a new baby to feed. (We met them on our last cruise!)

(2) The pools are pretty small, smaller even than "quiet pools" at the resorts. In particular the family (Goofy) pool appears to be more of a trench than a pool, though I've never swum in it. Keep in mind it is unusual to have 3 separate pools on a cruise ship and also unusual to have them filled with fresh water rather than salt water. They are often crowded but if you go at the right times not crowded at all. Best times: afternoon of embarkation day, as soon as they open in the morning.

(5) Very likely your cabin will be shown on your cruise documents, about 3 weeks before cruise. It may show up earlier if you check your reservation online.

(7) Just read on another thread they can check age on your room card. So as long as your son has his card with him he should be OK.
