Can You Stand It? Another Ticket Upgrade Question.

I'm not sure whether I fully understand if it would be worth it for me to upgrade two unused PHPs that I have.

I purchased them from Ticketmania at some time in the past.

Each is a 5-day PHP with 4 pluses. One ticket states on the reverse side "Valued at $247 plus tax", while the other states "Valued at $259 plus tax". I'm assuming that the tax rate of 6.5% has remained constant since their purchases in 2002 & 2003.

If I want to upgrade them to 10-day MYW Premium (no expiry), according to SnackStacky's FAQ's, Disney will apply the GATE price of the pass to the upgrade. By "GATE price", I'm assuming that would be the "valued at" price on the reverse of the tickets. Is this correct?

If that is the case, the cost to upgrade each to a 10-day MYW Premium (no expiry) Pass at Guest Services would be $151.23 and $138.45. This would basically give me 5 additional park days for the cost of $30.25/day and $27.69/day. And I would also get 5 pluses instead of the 4 I currently have. To me, this seems like a good deal.

Is there a flaw to my logic here or am I misunderstanding the new "upgrade" rules? Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds logical to me. Take your old tickets to Guest Relations and let them scan them and tell you what the total worth of each ticket is, and what the difference in price would be to upgrade it. Then you can decide if using them "as is" or upgrading would be a more economical option for you. Let the CM know that you only want to check before you do anything that can't be undone.
