can you stand another in laws vent? Warning Long

I am glad to hear your father is doing well. We will continue to keep him in our prayers.
I agree. It is time to let it go with your in-laws. You have done more than you should have had to. Remember, it is their loss, not yours.

So glad to hear that your dad is doing well. :thumbsup2

Accepting the reality of your relationship (or lack thereof) with the inlaws is difficult sometimes. My DH's dad lives less than a mile away from us, and he's seen my DS2 exactly two times since he was born. We made an above-and-beyond effort for so long, but there was always some lame excuse. When he told my DH that he "likes the idea of a family relationship more than he actually likes having a relationship" we simply walked away. I'll email periodically to make sure he's still alive, but anything beyond that is going to have to come straight from him. We're done. Frankly, I'm thankful that the relationship isn't more than it is. I'd a lot rather explain to my kids why granddad isn't a big part of our lives than have to constantly make excuses for his poor behavior/lack of feelings towards them.

:grouphug: to you and bravo for moving on with your family!
