Can you ship something to resorts in advance of arrival?

Is this something that is allowed by certain resorts, all resorts or no resorts?

What are the guidelines and limitations? Is there a phone # that I can call to get approval?

We will be flying and taking an infant and we were wondering if we could ship diapers, cereal, snacks, etc.?

Yes you can ship things to the resorts. You'll need the address for the resort, and I would also put your name & confirmation number on the package.

Check with your packaging outlet to find out the right day to ship out for it to get there on time. I was surprised to learn on a Friday that I wouldn't get shipment on a Wednesday without paying extra for express shipping.

We booked using AAA. Is our AAA reservation # the same as our Disney reservation #?

I've had things sent before, usually FedEx or UPS. I didn't need the ressie #, but I guess more information is better. I think you will be safe addressing it like this :

(Name of person who the room is registered to)
(Arrival Date)
c/o (Your Resort)
(Resort Address)

I've never had a problem. Just make sure the name that appears is the main name on the ressie in case they do check, and tell them when you check-in that you were expecting a package.

If you use regular mail (as it sounds like you might with the bulk of items) you may want to shell out the extra to get priority mail with delivery confirmation - that way you know it will get there ahead of you.

Another option is to buy the stuff when you get there. What kind of transportation to between the airports and the parks are you taking? For $100 you can get a round-trip ride in a town car and most include a 1/2 hour grocery stop at a "regular" grocery store off-property. Might be worth it for you, depending on your party size. A lot more convenient as well!

PS - Go to AllEarsNet and you can see all the addresses for the resorts on their respective pages - though I always double check it with Disney when I make PS's and such just in case

I was going to ask this as we live in the UK and DH wants to order goods from a US company and get them delivered while we are there as they do not ship to an International address! Is it best to let the hotel know that a package may arrive before we do? If so how is it best to contact them?

i've shipped boxes several times to save room in the suitcases (and to hide a few small toys for the kids to play with while we collapes after the flight).

i just checked the toys r us website (www.toysrus.com)-you can order diapers, wipes, some types of powdered formulas and just about anything else you might need. they are currently running a promotion where certian purchases over $25 (us dollars) qualifies you for free shipping and handleing-but they run this special on a very regular basis. as for cereals and snacks, you could pack a small supply and then grab some on site at one of the many "general stores" If i recall they carried jarred baby food as well)-if you are staying at a disney vacation club resort you can even make a grocery order from thier list which they will put in you fridge prior to your arrival.

just contact the resort you're staying at, clear that it's o.k. and ask the earliest date they would accept a package to hold for your arrival, then figure out how long the shipping will take from your provider and come up with an order date. find out how the resort wants you to address the package (most want your name, est. date of arrival, reservation number...).

and don't stress out-all of the parks at wdw have baby stations where you can get jarred food, diapers, wipes and minor snacks at a price (they also are an oasis of quiet for changing or feeding a little one).

one thing i feel i must caution you on-i recently watched an episode of airport and learned that liquid formula (with the exception of a reasonable amount to cover the flight time) may be denied as acceptable luggage. apparantly it has something to do with what formulas are acceptable by what country's standards. so don't plan on packing enough cans and then have them confiscated before take off.

I just got back Monday and I had mailed a box down to arrive before we got there. It was 15 pounds and cost me $10

I called the resort first to be sure there were no handling charges and there wasn't---some resorts charge to handle that box for you.

They told me to put my name and their address along with the disney confirmation number and the date of arrival. They will store this box in the bellhop area for you.

No problems for me whatsoever and I used UPS so I was able to track the package to see that it got there before I ever left the house.

I ship boxes every time we go. We use UPS 3-day - you get a confirmation number and can check on line to verify your box(es) were delivered. I always put the reservation number & arrival date in the upper left hand corner. If shipping more than 1 box it helps if you put 1st of 3 boxes, etc. At Yacht Club the bellhops have nothing to do with shipped boxes. Boxes are delivered to a mail facility on property. When we arrive I tell the CM I have boxes. They are then usually delivered with 20 minutes to our room.
For UK guests I highly recomment WeGoShop. They will purchase whatever you want and deliver it personally to your room at a time convenient for you.
