Can you share your experiences with Storytime Villas-WH?

I would like to stay @ StoryTime Villas in Windsor Hills with my family this coming December. However, I have never rented before and don't want to book anything with hearing some feedback first! I would appreciate anything you may know so that I can make my decision! TIA!
 
I will be staying there in a week and a few days. I will let you know how it goes. The owners are super super nice and the place looks beautiful. The minute I have a question I email them and they call me within hours. I wouldnt hesitate to book with them at all. I have been a bit of a pain with my million questions but they never make me feel like I am being a pest. I am planning on doing a trip report in fact when I get back. So I should have some pics up of the resort. By the way this is the first time I have booked anything outside a regular hotel or resort on theme park grounds. I stayed at the Hard Rock in Orlando and paid a ton of money but wasnt that impressed with the room . The grounds were nice but the room was not so much. At Windsor Hills it just seems like you get so much more for what you pay for. Plus you can save money on meals to boot! They all have full kitchens. Cant beat that.
 
We have not stayed with them yet. We were supposed to the end of the month and had to reschedule. We were all paid up so we picked our new dates and they asked if we wanted the $ back minus the dep. We recived a check back within the week.
 

There is a rather extensive thread on their properties if you do a search. We stayed in Story Time 2 for 10 days and while the property was nice, we had a lot of problems. We had ants in the dishwasher, broken glass in the picture frames, broken door handles, etc. We called the management company several times and never got any satisfaction. We were told to buy a can of Raid for the ants and they would reimburse us!

The owners were fabulous before the trip. Very prompt replies to emails, usually within a few hours. After the trip when we sent the pictures of the ants everywhere, we never heard from them again. We weren't even asking for a refund! LOL

We are planning another trip and we really like the look of their six bedroom home, but my wife vows that we will never stay in one of their properties again after the way our concerns were ignored after full payment had been made.

In their defense, I understand they have ditched their management company, Villa Direct, and now manage it themselves I think. I know some people have stayed in their homes and have had a wonderful time, but for us, the lack of communication when they were presented with a problem was the reason we will never return to a StoryTime property. I still have the pictures for posperity! LOL

My opinion is that while you may have a completely trouble free vacation with them, the risk of having problems spoil your hard earned vacation is too great.

Wasnt that when they were under that villa's( Villa's Direct? ) something or other management? I know they have a new management company now. A family that comes in and cleans and does everything. I know they were aware of the past complaints and issues with the old management company. When were your dates if you dont mind my asking? I know the new family took over a few months back. Not sure exactly when.
 
We were there during the "VillaDirect" days in October 06. And while I do place the majority of the blame for our experience squarely on Villa direct, there is absolutely no reason why they (the owners) would never reply to an email about problems in one of their villas. If this was my business and livliehood, I would want to address every problem that I could to keep people happy and not come on internet forums such as this and bash them. They failed to even reply to my emails, with pictures, (and again, I wasn't looking for a refund ar any other type of compensation) and even give a short "We are sorry for your trouble and will deal with the management company about your complaint" reply.

This to me shows an owner who forgets you once your out of the house and they have your money.
