Obviously you can share counter service meals, and i am sure that you can NOT share at buffets, but can you share a meal at a table service restaurant? I am not a big eater. My husband and I always share a meal when we eat out. I figure that with an appetizer and dessert, that we could EASILY eat only one meal credit's worth at a sit-down restaurant. But will they let you do that? Thanks!

Most of the restaurants have no problem splitting plates. Just make sure to tip your server generously. He is still providing service to two guests even though only one meal is ordered. However, I want to point out a few things:
  • The DDP does not include appetizers, so you would have to pay OOP for them. If you're on the DxDP, they are included but that would be a lot of food for light eaters.
  • Sharing TS meals only makes sense if you need to stretch your credits so that you can enjoy signature dining or to cover one more meal for the day that you depart. Otherwise, you end up with leftover credits at the end of your trip and you've wasted your money on the dining plan.
  • You and your husband have to be in total agreement as to what you want to eat if you're going to share.
  • Portions at Disney have gotten smaller over the years. It used to be easy for light eaters to split meals. But now the amount of food in a serving can be too much for one but is rarely enough for two people.

I had no earthly idea you could possibly share a table service meal if you were on the dining plan. Sometimes we just have too much food left over and if this is a real possibility we could easily have an extra credit to be able to do a signature or two credit dinner meal every few days. This is good news - is it really true?

I just thought that if you had 2 adults at a meal you had to use 2 credits...yay if its not a requirement!

DSiL and I were on the DxDDP for 2 nights. We ate at Kona for dinner one night and told the server that we wanted to share a meal. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and split it. Then, for our entree, we shared the teriyaki sirloin. Fortunately, we both like our steaks medium-rare. For dessert, we shared a Kiluaea Torte. On top of that, it was my birthday so they brought us two cupcakes. DSiL only drinks water with her meals so I had the soda. It worked great and it was plenty of food for us...and we were starving! We did end up with a straggling credit which we used for a late-night "snack" at the Contempo Cafe. We shared a flatbread and a dessert and got a bottled water for use later in the week.

My mother and I each ordered an entree at THE WaVE last week.(She is a light eater)We agreed that, had it not been for the bread, we would have left hungry.

DH and I have shared meals for years. Of course, usually we order 2 meals with desserts and share between 3 of us. Normally we don't eat dessert and one dessert per person would be too much. We have ordered an appetizer and paid separately for that.
