I posted this on the CB just now, but I wanted to post here too since I feel that this board is my "home" on the DIS.
Please, can I ask all of you to send prayers and PD for my stepmom?. After bravely seeing my Dad through his bout with Alzheimers until his death 1 1/2 yrs. ago, and a difficult move from CT to VA to be near my stepsister and her kids, she has just been diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. She has 2 broken bones, broken because they were weakened by the cancer, and a severe kidney infection. When I saw her 3 wks ago she seemed weak, but otherwise ok, and now she's in a light coma. She could have just days left, or it could drag on for months, we don't know yet. I am in total shock, as I'd hoped her move would allow her to enjoy the time she has left in relative comfort and happiness, and now, out of nowhere, this!
I just got the phone call from my step sister a couple hours ago, I don't have any more details yet. At least with my Dad he went gradually, so there was more than enough time to get used to the idea of losing him, but this is so sudden!
I'm not sure what else to say here, but I will keep you posted when I know more.
