I want to make ADR's here and would like to have it later so we can watch the fireworks.I've heard you can see them but do you need to be in a specific place and they talk about upstairs? what is the difference and can you request a certain place when making ADR's?

You can see the fireworks from Chefs. The restaurant has big windows, and we've watched them from a window table before. Upstairs is a separate restaurant called Bistro de Paris. There are fewer windows upstairs, but you can also watch the fireworks from upstairs.

Plan Chefs de France for another night and replace it with the Rose and Crown for the best restaurant Illuminations viewing. At ALL tables, you can be escorted to the private Rose and Crown viewing are for a fabulous view.

But say it's chilly outside, and you've eaten at Rose and Crown a bunch of times. Really, can you see Illuminations from Chefs de France?

I'm sure you can see most of the fireworks if you happen to be sitting by a front window, but there's a lot more to Illuminations than the fireworks. You'll miss all of the stuff that's happening with the globe, and the water effects. Remember, too, that the walkway between the restaurant and the lagoon is going to be absolutely packed with people during the show, and your view will be blocked.

If you want to really see Illuminations, either eat at Rose & Crown, or just plan to see the show some other night. It really is worth seeing the whole thing.

You will be able to see some of the fireworks from Chef's de France, depending on your seat. You may have an obstructed view. Like the last poster said, there's alot more to Illuminations than just the fireworks. It's a wonderful show and to fully appreciate it you don't want your view to be obstructed in any way. I always stand on the bridge by the Internation Gateway for the best views of the show.

There's also no guarantee that you'll get a table with a view at Rose and Crown. You could end up with an indoor table, in fact, or potentially, you could end up not being seated in time for the show (depending on your ADR). The CM's make that quite clear when you make an ADR. Indeed, if your party isn't the right size, they probably won't seat you at a prime outdoor table, and even the outdoor tables have a roof.
One thing I noticed about being under an roof during the fireworks, is that it will often obstruct your view of the higher fireworks. If you want prime viewing of fireworks, anything indoors is not going to be prime.
