Unlike "Wishes" at MK which takes place 90%(+) in the "sky",
nearly ALL of IllumiNations is revealed within a few feet above the WS lagoon.
So, as another post mentioned, you must be standing at the lagoon with a (mostly) unobstructed view to fully experience the actual "show".
You can see the "first" effect (streak and explosion) of the show, a few scattered "sky expolsions", and the two major "finale" combo effects... but as to the rest of this complex presentation, if you're not next to the water in WS, its lost.
Bicker, I agree with seeing Wishes from Epcot. One night last October we were watching Illuminations from in front of Japan. While Illuminations was going on right in front of me, Wishes was visible to my right. I could hardly decide where to look.

I agree with both Bicker and Hopefully. We have watched Wishes and Illuminations at the same time from Epcot. Of course Wishes is off in the distance but it is still fun to watch both at the same time.
