Can You See Illuminations from BCV?

We stayed at OKW and was presently surprised to see some high fireworks from Illuminations. Since BCV is closer than OKW is it possible to see even more fireworks than OKW? We are considering staying there for our November trip :)

If so, any room suggestions?

Thanks!

Deb

From every room we've had on the back side of BCV, we've seen Illuminations. Both the extent of the view and the volume of music varies from room to room but we do love it.

We were on the back side last year and couldnt see a thing. We were on the third floor.

Stacey, do you remember where your room was?

I should add that we have never been on the first floor but have often been on the second and have been able to see some of Illuminations. Not Spaceship Earth except from a few rooms and not the globe in Illuminations.

We have stayed at BCV's several times.

In the past we requested an EPCOT view. I don't know if they accept that request anymore.

As others have said, it may be possible to see a partial view of the IllumiNations fireworks from your room, but I wouldn't count on it.

The views we have had were of the very high fireworks. It is nice to see from your room, but it is not even close to seeing them while your at EPCOT.

Another option is to walk from BCV's towards the International Gateway of EPCOT. About halfway to EPCOT, there is a bridge which connects the BCV/YC side to the BW side. If you stand on this bridge, you will have a pretty good view of the fireworks. The walk time from your room, to the bridge would be about 10 minutes or so.

You can take a look at DisZip's great website. It has the layout of BCV along with some of the views from the rooms. Not all of the rooms on the back side will have illuminations view. What I have read is that rooms on the third floor and above have a good view. We were in room 367 and had a nice view of the upper fireworks and could hear some of the music. (we also had a view of Epcot Resort Blvd. and the stagnet canal) The fireworks were viewed to the right at about a 45 deg. angle. All rooms x53-x77 odd, and x20-24 even would have good illuminations view. Rooms x39-x51 odd would NOT have an illuminations view. The rest I'm unsure or it would be a partial view.

BTW my DH went on the bridge one night when the fireworks were going off and said that our room had just as good a view if not better.

Hmmm, are you sure about xx39-51 not having a view, Lisa? That Y part of the BCV points almost directly at the lagoon so I would think that rooms on that side would have a view to the left almost as good as the even 42-52 rooms although not quite as it is off a bit.

But we have had rooms in the 63 odd and up, 53-61 odd, 42-52 even, and 25-33 odd. All have had a view of Illuminations although the angle varies of course and how much is blocked by trees does as well. We have been on the second through fifth floors and have seen it from each room.

But you have me curious about 39-51 odd. I don't think we've been on that side of that wing.

Most people do seem to request higher floors though.

Lisa is correct... the rooms x39 - x51 are the only ones on that side of the building that do not have a view of illuminations due to the angle those rooms are. My understanding is the one on the very end, x51 does if you lean over and stretch your neck.

And be careful not to fall. :rotfl2:

Very interesting. Have you been in that stretch of rooms Terry? What about the fireworks that appear to come off the countries? You'd think you could see the ones from France, etc.. I guess that is a minor part of the show though.

I haven't stayed in more then the one epcot view, but have studied the maps and pics. If you look at the view from room 433 from DisZip's website. you will get a good idea about the view of illuminations from that wing. 433 is on the main section ajacent to the epcot wing. The first pic shows the view down the wing and the second shows the partial view of the fireworks.

I've always been curious about 42-52 even. So there is a reasonably good view of illuminations from that side of the wing? I thought the angle might be too close to the line of the building. But I guess if the other side doesn't have the view, this one would. duh.

We stayed in #431 at BCV last year, and it had a really nice view of Illuminations. We could hear most of the music as we sat out on the balcony. Loved it! :) We also got #427 another year, and it seems to me that we were happy with the Illuminations view that time too.

We were in 275 and saw lots of the fireworks from Illuminations, though we only heard the music quite faintly - saw Wishes a couple of times too by craning our necks and hanging over the balcony.

Lisa, we had I think 246 one trip and it was a great room. That line of tall evergreens that filters Illuminations for many of the room in that V doesn't come into play for that room and I would think for any on that wing. You do have to look to your right but the trees are to the left if that makes any sense. Yet the trees still do a good job of blocking the sound and view of the road.

I see what you mean about 433. Although this is beside the point doesn't it look as if the pictures are from different rooms? Or maybe just different spots on a long balcony.

Glad to hear. That was the other section I didn't know about.

Yes, we've had both 425 and 225 which are accessible studios. Illuminations was good from both.

I guess I was assuming the pics may have been from different balconies of a 2 bedroom. But your right they are from different angles.

With room 369 we had a good view of the illuminations but the noise of the road was there. Not loud but a always present subdued thump thump in the background. It seemed to bother my DH the most in the morning before he was really ready to wake-up. What was worse to me was viewing the stagnet water of the canal and the same pieces of garbage floating in it all week. It wasn't a lot but I had this urge to pick it up and couldn't.

After rereading the thread, I realized Terry gave the correct answer right there! Silly me! Only x39-x51 do not have illuminations view (x33 might be partially blocked as well)

I was in #339 and could see Illuminations (though not well)-I even taped it. And I could hear the music, though not loudly. The courtyard view from #305-I wouldn't even know there was an Illuminations-I could neither see it or hear it at all from there, I went down to the beach (as did about a dozen other people) where we could see and hear Illuminations, while sitting on a chaise lounge in the sand.

I'm not sure what room we were in but we were on the 4th floor in a 2 bedroom at the end of a hallway. We saw illuminations perfectly and we never heard any noise from a road.
