I know this is going to sound SO silly to you guys, but I was wondering if we would be able to ride the monorail without a ticket. Technically, we'll have a ticket, but it just won't be valid- we have to go to the TTC or Guest Relations at MK to convert our Play 4 Days passes into Seasonal Passes, but we only have until August 7 to do this, even though the season doesn't start again until August 16 (17?). Since we're going to have to drive to Orlando to buy the passes, though, we'll make a day out of it in Downtown Disney. I thought my kids would like riding the monorail around, even if we can't go into the parks, for a little while after we get our passes & before we head to DD. Does anyone know if this is allowed?

I suppose that techincally you are supposed to have the right passes or at least be a Disney resort Guest to use the transportation. But I have never been asked to show any type of identification.

I can't see you having a problem with it. In all the times I've been to WDW, I've never been asked to show an ID for transportation or even a resort pool. Even the last time we went in April of this year, we weren't asked and that's with all the heightened security and stuff.

Have a great trip!

I have never been asked for a pass of any type to ride the monorail. If you are worried about that though I would ride the monorail from the T&TC.You could probably park your car and catch a bus from DTD over to the T&TC and then get on it there.

In theory the M'rail is for park or WDW resort guests. I have heard of occasions where the parks were to capacity and resort i.d.'s were checked. I have never had happen in more than two dozen visits, nor have I heard of it happening any time recently. You should definitely use the system for your transportation needs without worry.

They did check IDs in the past, but I think the last time I saw them do it was about 10 years ago. You should be fine.

On several of our trips over the past year, the cm's have asked to see tickets at the TTC before getting to the monorail station.

Thanks everyone! I guess if anyone gives us a hard time about it, I will tell them that we need to go to Guest Relations to get our pass upgrades (which is true- the CSR at the WDW phone number told us that we can upgrade at Guest Relations or the TTC).

A couple of times , last year being the most recent, there has been someone at the TTC checking for park passes. It was very cursory, however. There was just one person checking everyone who went through a gate and they just glanced at the pass. There is no way they would know if it was valid or not. My husband only had an annual pass voucher and he got through with no trouble:D
