and do this on the phone ahead of time?
I want to make sure DS is with us when the cake comes out.
Since its for me I dont feel comfortable doing it face to face so if I can do this ahead on the phone it would be easier.

(Do lobster & cake go together? Most likely not but that wont stop DS as he wont eat lobster!)

We made our request over the phone with DCL to have our DD 13th, and Dsis 50th, celebrated on Formal Night, I wanted some nice photos of my DD dressed to the max, and I wasn't disappointed.

Of course my DD would probably kill me, if she knew I was adding this photo in.

HAPPY 13TH SWEETIE!!!

Thanks Andy
Birthday is on semi-formal night thank goodness. "Mr No Pants" will be dressed in a tux!
(Hoping to get him to Palos on formal night)

My DH has requested b-day cake for me and my youngest DD! I was curious as to how they did it. Will they do 2 different nights or just one night? I don't care about them singing to me -- but I definately want to capture the moment for my DD (she's turning 3) and that's a big deal that a Disney character is going to sing to her!!

a disney character sings to you when they bring the cake out? I didnt know that

There weren't any Disney Characters that I saw of anytime during our cruise that came to the dining room, HB was sung by the servers, assistant servers, head servers, and guests.

I have had two birthdays on the cruise and it is your waitstaff that sings, no characters are present. you can email or call the cruiseline to let them know what day you want it. If you don't tell them they will do it on your regular bday.

On our 8/16, my DH and I celebrated our anniversary.

Our 11 yr DD told our head several about this, but on the actual anniversary date we went to Palo's.

So, our Headserver arranged for a cake to be brought to us at Palo's and then again the next night at our usual dining rotation stop. Of course this was in addition to my regular dinner dessert!!!!! I sure didn't need the cake too! They sang happy anniversary and had someone present from Shutters to take our picture. It was all very sweet.

We were certainly caked out by the end of the cruise.

thanks

thanks for the input - I better let DH know that there probably won't be disney characters singing - he's walking around the house telling DD that Mickey is going to sing to her. Don't want her upset! If he stops talking about it - she's likely to forget anyways -- Is it April yet?!?

Goofy601 I wonder if you could get them to sing at the character breakfast. of course the characters can't really sing but they could be present.

the characters are not allowed to speak, sing etc. There is a good logic behind this. Since the characters are different people and sexes they could not all sound the same and it would ruin the fantacy for a child if Mickey sounded like I don't know Bill Clinton...

Ann,

You have me ROFLMBO, and I'm not even what you would call a political person!!!

It certainly can't hurt to ask. Either way we're planning on having a super time and enjoying every minute of our trip! Thanks for all the input!

For our anniversary, I had mentioned it on the phone when I made our reservation. On our first night, the head server asked us which night we would like to celebrate when he introduced himself at dinner.

DH spoke to the travel agent about it - and when we get on board the ship - I'll be sure and tell the server which night or nights work best for us! Thanks!

I'm just checking to see if I posted my timer correctly...computers can be so touchy! Have a great day...is it April yet?!?
