Can you request characters?

I don't know if this is true, so maybe some of you can help me. But I heard that if there is a certain character that you want to see in the park, you can approach a cast member and ask where "so and so" is and they will tell you, "Oh, you will find them at such and such at 3:00pm" and then the character will be there.

Have any of you ever heard of this or had any experiences like this?

Yes, they can tell you where a particular character is going to be and when.

If you ask a CM at guest services they can tell you where the character will be. Just don't ask just any CM on the street where a character is. I know when I asked one at the tip board at EPCOT where Mulan would be, they answered probably Morocco with the other Aladdin characters. Try asking a Guest Services and you should be able to find who you're looking for.

We were there in early August and while we were waiting in line to see some characters, we asked the CM that was accompanying the character where we might find a different character....I forget who we specifically asked about. If the character you are looking for is out in the parks a lot, those CMs accompanying characters can tell you where you will likely find them. But, if you want a definitive answer about a specific character, they told us to go to any location on WDW property that has a phone (i.e. a shop, guest relations, even a resort) and ask the CM at that location to call the "chip hotline" and find out if that specific character will be out today. We did do this several times and got good information.

Only the CM can call in for this information, and we were told that the hotline doesn't have the information available for the current day until 9am. Once the info is available, they will tell you which park (or parks) the character is scheduled to appear in, and the approximate time and location. If you are checking at one park, but plan to be at another park later in the day, let the CM know that, and they can ask the chip hotline if the character you are looking for will be at the other park when you expect to be there. Sometimes they can’t give you a definite answer (we asked about Mulan when we were at MGM and we were told that a certain time and location there would be a number of “face” characters and Mulan might be one of them, they said they couldn’t be certain because they didn’t know her schedule)….she wasn’t there that day, but there were an number of other face characters there (and this was a character greeting that was not published in the times guide or park map). All of the other times we asked about specific characters, we were told when/where they would be, and they were there.

This is awesome info! My youngest is desperate to see Peter Pan and my oldest didn't get to see Mulan or Jasmine the last time. Thanks for this info!!! I am adding it to my list of tips!

Hi,

For the poster looking for Peter Pan and Jasmine, in May we saw Peter Pan several times at the entrance to The Pirates of the Carribean. Captain Hook and Mr. Smee(Smeed?) were outside the gift shop of The pirates of the Carribean. For the past 3 years we have always found Jasmine in Morrocco, check the Epcot entertainment guide for times. Have fun!

Thanks Pooh667~~!

Someone on another thread also told me about some Family Magic Tour where you can see them as well. I am looking in to that as well! Thanks again everyone! :bounce:

ILuvTinkerbelle:

In addition to Morocco at Epcot, Jasmine can often be found at a character greeting area near the Aladdin flying carpet ride in MK. Check your park map for the symbol showing the character greeting area (or just ask a CM in that area) in that area. Then check the times guide for when the characters will appear...Jasmine may not be there every time, but you have a good chance of seeing her.

Any ideas about Mulan??? LOL I am hoping she is at the Storybook Princess breakfast.

CM's can call the "C.H.I.P." line and they can find out any info on characters you want (where, times, etc.).

She was at Innoventions West last month. She was in a room over by the Ibo dogs I believe. Snow White and Aurora were also there. The CM working there said sometimes she's there, sometimes she's not. I've also heard of her being in China and International Gateway as well. Definatly ask a CM where she will be. It seems like she could be any number of places in the park. She was also in front of the Sorcerer's Hat with a bunch of other face characters at MGM.

Thank you for all the great tips. As a little girl my favorite movie was Robin Hood and for sentimental reasons I would love to have a picture of Robin Hood now that I'm older. Another favorite character is Belle. I have never seen her besides in the parades and I would LOVE to have my picture with her. I know sometimes she is in Epcot-France with the Beast b/c my sister and her husband had their pictures taken with them there. This will be my DH first time at Disney and I really want him to be able to meet the characters I have loved from a young age. Thanks again for all of the help.

Belle on our last trip we saw Belle in the Exposition Hall in the back. My ds who was almost 4 at the time had quite the conversation with her inviting her to dinner WITHOUT the Beast! LOL We saw Jasmine, Mary Poppins and Daisy there as well!

Thanks for the tip about Mulan meeko, I will add this to my tip list and make sure to ask!

I was in MK in March after it opened in October. I was in the 5th grade and I have pictures of me with Capt. Hook, "a red fox in dressy clothes" (I don't know who he is), and with Flower the skunk. I wish I could "repeat" those poses again too. Maybe in October? Melanie

Melanie, the red fox is Fowlfellow- the character from Phinochio who sings "An Actor's Life for Me."

Belle- I saw Robin Hood yesterday in the Frontierland Hoedown. It was a rather random group of characters! Robin Hood, Prince John, Friar Tuck, Phinochio, Tweedles....I forget who else.

Oh! The most guarenteed way to meet Belle is to go to her storytelling at the Fairytale Gardens. The schedule is on the timeguide- usually about once an hr until 5 or 6. Belle tells her story with the help of some volunteers and then she does meet and greets. :) The gardens are in a little nook on the right side of the castle near the Teacups and Cosmic Rays.

the red fox in the fancy clothes could be Foulfellow, also known as Honest John, from Pinocchio.
