Can you rent umbrellas on Castaway Cay?

Can you rent umbrellas on the family beach at Castaway Cay? DH and DS are both VERY fair (let's talk TRANSLUCENT skin!) and I want to make sure that we will be able to rent a nice umbrella before expecting them to bake in the sun for the day.....

No need to rent umbrellas on CC. Umbrellas and chairs are set up all along the beach and are plentiful.

My husband burns easily.....

We make sure we get off the ship early and a spot on the beach with umbrella and a tree nearby (so it will be shaded mid day)

It's nice to take a nap on the beach...

There is no guarantee you'll get one. We too are a fair skinned family. No umbrellas were available when we got to the beach, I thought we got there early. However, it seemed that many of the umbrellas went unused (just sitting there over some beach chairs with people's stuff sitting in the chairs all day. No idea where the people went. We were finally able to snag some of the short chairs, which were great for sitting in the water, but no umbrellas. I couldn't just take one from an obviously used spot. Or remove people's stuff after an hour or so either.

Luckily however, it was a little overcast our day, so we didn't suffer too much from the beating sun, and we just slathered on tons of sunscreen.

When are you going? We were there in June and didn't rush off the ship, but just headed all the way down the beach (past the peninsula where the Head's Up bar is) and were the first ones (other than a lifeguard) on that part of the beach (known as the "sports beach"). There were plenty of chairs and plenty of umbrellas, but you can't move the umbrellas.

I, too, am fair skinned so I warn you to make sure you also have a very strong and reliable sunblock as well as a good hat. I was slathering myself all day with spf 30 and never took off the bandana over my head, but still wound up with a bit of painful color. There were, however, many, many people over the next couple of days who appeared to be glowing brightly. Also, make sure you sunblock the tops of your feet as I saw people heading back to the ship who couldn't wear their shoes or sandals even though the walkway was hot.

Maybe you already knew this, but better safe than sorry.

Our cruise was booked completely. We didn't rush to get off the ship. Lots of people on the beach and plenty of umbrellas. Keep walking down the beach. If you don't see one ask someone. There are plenty of people there to help.

We were on the Thanksgiving Wonder and there were plenty of umbrellas on the beach. We sat in an area with several palm trees to shade us all day, in addition to the umbrellas, and no burns.
