.....and how you felt?!

I just cannot believe that at 34 I am finally going to WDW...this has been a dream of mine since I was Millie's age......I get all teary when I look at Millie...I can't wait to see her face that first time she see's Cinderella's castle!!

:cloud9:

Now I just wish those paranoid "what ifs...." would stay out of my head!!!!

When: 1998, July. Was in FL for my bday.
Which park first: magic kingdom.
First memory: walking down the street being awestruck at the level of detail. perticularly hearing music and seeing no speakers.

Oh yes...

When: October 2000

Stayed at :Caribbean Beach Resort

Celebrated: Getting Married at The Polynesian Resort

First Park: Magic Kingdom to watch Spectro

Next.....

As clear as yesterday! Having gone to DLP and being extremely disappointed it took DH 5 years to persuade me to try WDW now I’m the one convincing him to go back year after year!

When: October 2001

Stayed: Offsite (we didn’t know any better at the time)

First park: Magic Kingdom and each and every visit since that feeling of pure Magic walking through those gates, hearing the music and seeing the castle has still been there.

Even though we went shortly after Sept 11 and the parks were very quiet, practically empty compared to subsequent years, the magic was still there! It was only when we visited again that we realised just how subdued WDW had been but a true testament to the sheer magic of the place that even at such an awful time it could still make a holiday so wonderful you just couldn’t wait to go back.

When - August 1992
Where - a hideous hotel on Internetional Drive which we loathed - we soon learned to stay on-site.
First park - MK
First memory - driving down to have a look at the entrance to MK on first afternoon and being SO EXCITED when we saw the entrance toll gates.

As much as we LOVE going, NOTHING will ever beat the first trip.

Our first visit was for our honeymoon in 1994.

The first park we visited was Magic Kingdom. The view as you walk up main street towards the castle is "what memories are made of" :cloud9:

When - June 1999
Where - Stayed off site - we too did not know any better
First Park - MK
Best Memory - seeing the castle for the first time - and it made me cry!!

We loved Disney sooooo much we booked our disney wedding for Dec 2000 as soon as we got home :Pinkbounc

Mine was September 1989, I was 8. It was the best holiday ever! I remember my mom and dad didn't tell me that we were going until the last minute and then I spent the weekend making a passport for my toy Elephant Ellie (original I know) as I was worried that he wouldn't be allowed to come with me if he didn't have his own passport!!

We stayed off site in the Comfort Suites on the 192 at the back of Pirates Cove Adventure Golf - they had underwater speakers! and then went down to Clearwater and stayed at the Raddison and they had a waterfall!!

First park was MK, I had never seen anything like it! I couldn't believe how cool everything was and mom and dad waiting in th eline for me to meet mickey was ace too!!!

I first visited in Jan 1983 when I was 13!

We were actually staying over on the Gulf coast, having a family get together for an important anniversary. It was only a day trip - but it was still wonderful to be finally seeing the Magic Kingdom, after years of longing to go.

I remember being really chuffed when Snow White waved to me during the parade, and experiencing for the first time the feeling that I always have when I'm at Disney of "This is where I'm MEANT to be"!!!

Our first time was when I was about 13. My mum and dad weren't that keen so we booked 1 week in Orlando then 2 weeks in Miami. Well they had such a ball that they didn't want to go to Miami, but we did anyway. Basically a week later we were back in the car and on our way back to Orlando. Hurrah!!! We've all been hooked ever since ( and they've never been back to Miami!)

When - 23rd June 2002
Where - International Drive (EEK)!! We also learned nothing beats on site!
First park - MK
First memory - Walking into MK,and taking it all in whilst being dragged by a toddler screaming she could see characters,IT WAS MAGICAL!.

I think from our first time it just gets better and better, every holiday is different, and we learn and discover new places etc! Nothing will beat WDW!

My very first visit to WDW was in May 1985, I was staying with my Aunt and Uncle who lived in Toronto, Canada, and they took me for a weeks holiday to Florida. It took us 36 hours to get there by coach, and we stayed at Daytona Beach. We went to the Magic Kingdom for one day. I remember going on 20,000 League Under the Sea, Teacups, Dumbo and the Skyway. I still have the Park Guide for that visit, and I can't believe how it has changed.

As a family, our first visit was in March 1998. We stayed miles away on Colonial Drive, near Downtown Orlando. It took us 25 minutes to get to the Ponderosa on International Drive, and then another 20 minutes to WDW. Youngest DD had her 5th birthday out there, and we had a character breakfast at the Garden Grill at The Land where my DD's dressed as Minnie Mouse and Meg (from Hercules).

I think those first memories of seeing Cinderella's Castle from Main Street or from the Ferry used to be my faves, but now it's when I walk around the corner of Sunset Boulevard and see the Tower of Terror and knowing that I'll be on it soon, just fills me with excitement.
