Can you reduce park ticket to one-day?

Hello all!

When I booked my 4/7 deal for August I didn't realize I could purchase a one day park ticket to save for another trip so I ordered up the package with the 7 days of single park tickets for each of us (3). I actually have enough No Expiration tickets for two of us already. I already booked with the CM with the full amount of tickets for all of us. Can I call back and reduce two of ours to single day tickets since it is before the 45 day window or would I have to pay a fee since I am downgrading regardless of how many days out my trip is?

It may make the difference between going and not going as it would be nice to save that $ now and sometime in the future apply those single day tickets towards multi-day tickets.

Thanks!!!!

Rosanne
(who secretly would have LOVED to have booked a deluxe resort for the 4/7 deal but my 2 year old (3 next month) thinks that the Toy Story section of All Star Movies is Disney World. Period.) LOL;)

As long as it is before your 45 day mark you can make any changes to the reservation without penalty. The only thing is, everyone in the room must be on the same pkg with the same number of days on their tickets. What you can do is call back, change everyone to a one day ticket, then when you get there, go to guest services there in the resort and have them change the third person's ticket to whatever they need. We have done this several times for different promotions. I have an AP, my travel partners do not, so we buy one day tickets for everyone, in order to get the promotion, then when we get there I use my AP (saving my one day tickets) and they go to guest services as soon as we check in and upgrade their one day tickets to whatever they need for that trip.

Just FYI: Any guest service in the resorts or parks can upgrade the one day ticket to any MYW ticket (with or without hoppers and water park options), but only guest services in the parks or at DTD can upgrade them to an Annual Pass, if that's what you want. The resort guest services can not give you Annual Passes.

Thank you!

That is actually even better for me since if I change them all to one day passes it will give me until August to pay the difference from a one day to a longer pass for my daughter instead of having to cough up all that money at once. Yay!

Right now you have 7 day tickets for the price of 4 day tickets. Make sure, if you reduce to 1 day, that we you decide to change to the 7 day later that you'll still be paying the 4-day price. I don't know that you might have to pay the full 7 day rate if you do so at check in or prior.

The difference in price between a 4-day and a 7-day MYW ticket is only $9. However, ticket prices have gone up the past 2 years in August - so you could be paying even more to upgrade the one-day tickets if you do so after a price increase.

Oh, I thought when you upgraded your one-day ticket that they credited whatever the going rate was for the day you used/upgraded it. That's what they did when I upgraded the 7-day park hopper from Undercover Tourist to a 10 day. They just applied the current full price ticket of a 7 day towards my 10 day. Of course, that was last June so they could have changed policy since then.

Thanks for all the help!

Oh, I see, you are probably reminding me that the price of the 10 day, no exp PH may go up more than the cost of the single day ticket. So true. Still, I have a better shot of saving up more money by then.

I am excited that FD is coming out soon even though I probably won't be taking advantage of it since if I put my trip off until the 16th I would be able to only stay three nights before I'd have to drive us back up for school. I am really hoping there will be some way of getting a deal in December (we're out of school after the 18th). I'd love to see the decorations.

Roseanne I beleive you have to use the pass first in order to get full gate fee. Then go to the Guest Services at the park and have it upgraded. That is what I am reading on here from all the pros....:thumbsup2

I just checked to see what I paid for my last 10-day non-expiring park hopper from Undercover Tourist. The price was $439.95 last summer before the last price increase (with MouseSavers discount). The price of the same hopper bought today from Undercover Tourist is $481.95 - an increase of $42! I used my park hopper in January to get into Epcot, then went to Guest Relations and upgraded to an annual pass for no additional charge. The gate price of the 10-day hopper is now more than the price of an annual pass.
