My sister and I are arriving on a Thursday afternoon and are staying at the Bonnet Creek resort on Disney property. We're going to be spending Friday and Saturday in the parks and dining at the Poly Friday night. But Thursday we'd like to explore off-property a little without driving too far away. Any dinner recommendations near Disney but not Disney? It's just the two of us, both 30-something, not too much into the bar scene. Just a nice meal in a good atmosphere.

Thanks!

There are so many wonderful offsite restaurants. You would be hard pressed not to find something you like. If you were a bit more specific, you would get some nice reccomendations. There is a poster here, I think her name is Heather and she posts great in depth reviews for many off site restaurants. She has a restaurant blog. Try and search her out, She is very informative.

I'd suggest Bahama Breeze - very good food, pleasant atmosphere, something a little different, pricing similar to Olive Garden or Red Lobster (owned by the same parent company as Bahama Breeze).

Exit the Bonnet Creek development and turn RIGHT at the light. Go past Downtown Disney to the traffic light for Hotel Plaza Blvd and turn RIGHT, as if you were headed to I-4 and Crossings/Goodings. But at the big interesection with the light for Crossings, turn RIGHT again and then move over to the LEFT LANE so you don't get on I-4. Go under the highway and turn LEFT at the light, where you will see Bahama Breeze and several other restaurants. altogether, it's only about 3-4 miles from the resort. Enjoy!!!

Most of the areas best restaurants are within about a half mile of each other on Sand Lake Road.

I love Seasons 52. Roy's and the Samba Room are two other's that we really enjoy.

A lot of people rave about the Melting Pot, but it's not my cuppa tea. There's also a Bonefish Grill, Fishbones, and Ruth Chris' in that area.

It's about a 30 minute drive from WDW, less if there's no traffic. Many have a business casual dress code as an FYI. The Samba ROom and the Melting Pot are probably two of the more casual, but even those I wouldn't go to if I was in shorts and a t-shirt.
