I picked up a pair at the last 3d movie I went to. I asked the employee collecting them if we could keep ours he said sure. I am not positive if he was suposed to or not, but my guess is that part of the extra cost of the 3d movie from a normal movie is the glasses.

If you are planning on going to a 3d movie at your local theater anyway, you could ask if you can keep your glasses.

We went to go see the movie The Christmas Carol last night, and we kept our 3D glasses from that. They had a recycle bin that you could drop your glasses in, but we just asked to keep ours (most people were keeping theirs). However, it was $47.75 for our family of 5 to see this movie .... so I feel like we more than paid for the 3D glassses.

The first thing that I thought of was "Cool, these would be perfect for the Wii Toy Story Mania game."

The kids don't know they are getting the game for Christmas, so they thought it strange that I wanted to keep the glasses.
