This is a followup another thread I started where I was asking about the whole preboarding, A,B and C pass thing and I understood everyones answers however I am confused on this one thing: Tomorrow at 9:45 which will be 24 hours prior to our departure, I am going to go on line and get my boarding pass and hopefully end up with an A pass, however since we have a child who is 4 (also 6 and 8), what happens if we have the A pass and then they let us preboard. Does having the A pass make is so that we can't preboard? I guess I am just confused as to why I need the A pass if we can preboard, or should we have it anyway? I am assuming that people who preboard go before the A passes? :confused3

You need a boarding pass to get through security, so go online and get it. You can preboard with an A pass.

They could suspend preboarding if there are lots of families with kids. So with an A pass you would still get on ahead of other people.

Thanks, that what I needed to know!

Yesterday, at my SW gate, they told the pre-boarders to be sure they have their blue pre-board pass. I think you get it when you check in. It seems half our plane had one.
