We have a preferred campsite for one night at FW, and somebody just told me I can only park an RV there.

We were planning on camping in our tent. :confused3

I called Disney and one CM said, yes, you can put a tent there and one told me, no, you can't.

Argh! Help!

Disney's Carousel of Policy at its best! I think you can, but I am not sure. We had a tent next to us last time, so I would have to guess yes.

I know that didn't help much, but more will be along to help.

Oh, thank you so much!:worship:

I REALLY didn't want to pay 400/night for the only remaining accomodations at Disney for that night  Not that I don't love the idea of the Polynesian, but wow, that's a LOOOOT of money to crash one night on our way over to vero beach...

Yes, you can. You will have to pay the cost of a prefered site but other than that, it can be a tent or RV.

As long as Disney gets their money for the site, they dont care what you put on it, unless they can get MORE money out whatever your putting on it. Ive heard of people just having a screen room and lounge chairs.

we have a class a and have had tents intertwined with everyone...no one treats you any different;)

Isn't that just the best, that is why I love camping so much, I have never spent time with the guy in the next room at the hotel, shooting the breeze and talking about what they are doing today... as well as drinking a kungaloosh.... wouldn't trade the TT for any hotel room.

I was told by the reservation people that you can put a tent or pop up anywhere, but you can't put a motorhome on a partial site. When I was trying to make my reservations for next Christmas they had only released partial sites and would not let me reserve one. They said I HAD to be on a full hook up. In the end I finally got my full hook up, but it took awhile.

This is the same thing that I have always been told. Always see lots of tents in Full and Preferred sites, never a TT or MH on Partial though.

Don't the Preferred sites have a cement pad though? Where would the tent go? I'm sure I wouldn't want to sleep on cement! Is there still a big enough place on the grass next to the pad? Or, maybe I have no idea of what I'm talking about! lol

There is a sand pad behind the concrete pad. We have stayed in preferred sites the last three trips and saw tents, pop-ups, TT, 5ers, and MHs camped together living in harmony. If only the rest of the world could learn from campers. Oh no I feel a course of Kumbaya(sp).:grouphug:

Yeah, that was what my DH was worried about-he's like, I'd "prefer" not to sleep on cement!!! I was pretty sure that there was sand on all of them, nice to have you guys confirm it. He trusts the camping board on the Dis way more than he trusts the CM's...

Smart man....most of us have BEEN to the fort....some more often than others (glaring at Des1954 and Stack).....but CMs at CRO more than likely have never set foot in the fort!!!!!

see, that is why you get addicted to this forum...

The only drawback to putting a tent on a preferred or full hookup is that the sand pad is smaller so you may not be able to put a larget tent AND a screen room. We were in the 1600 loop and had a 8x8 tent behind our camper. A tent and a screen room would fit, but it would be tight.

I have seen a Class A in a partial site on 2000. Not sure how they got in there, but they did.

I saw one in 1500 once too Carol and even though it was a small one it took away from the atmosphere of the loop. It must have been a mistake. Remember when I met you last year that little 5'er was over by you?

I just made my reservations for Aug. for a preferred site. They asked me what equipment I had. I said "tent" and it was noooo problem. Piece of cake.:cloud9: I've also seen a class A in loop 2000, but then again I also saw this same family board the friendship boat when it made a stop at WL on its way to FW from MK. They were in their swimsuits so I think they must always play against the rules:headache: . I know, I know don't assume. I'm sure they had friends staying at WL so they could use the pool with them:rolleyes1
