Favorable or unfavorable opinions welcome...

This is our families first trip to Disney World and I have been tasked with planning the major meals so I don't want to screw it up :lmao:

I did some review reading and my strategy was to dine somewhere within the vacinity of the park we are visiting each day, since the park tickets we purchased require us to spend the entire day in one park.

Arrival Day: Magic Kingdom
Dinner (1TS) Wilderness Lodge - Whispering Canyon Cafe

2nd Day: EPCOT
Breakfast (1TS) Akershus Royal Banquet Hall - Princess Storybook Dining

Dinner (1TS) Disney Yacht & Beach Club - Cape Maye Cafe

3rd Day: Leaving Disney for the day so eating outside of WDW

4th Day: Animal Kingdom
Breakfast (out of pocket) at Chef Mickeys at The Contemporary (not within the Animal Kingdom park, but the reservation is for 7:20AM, so shouldn't interfere with getting to the park at a reasonable time).

Dinner (1TS) Animal Kingdom Lodge - The Bome

5th Day: Magic Kingdom (again)
Dinner (1TS) Grand Floridian Hotel - Cinderella's 1900 Park Fare Dinner

6th Day: Leaving.... :(
So, is dining within the vacinity of the park a good idea? Are the restaraunts I made reservations at good? bad?

Any help appreciated!!

Thanks!! :)

i have to say the only one i have done (until our dec trip this year:) ) is 1900 park fare dinner and it was FABULOUS!!!! we are definitely doing it again. get there early and look around the resort. it is AWESOME and so detailed

Oh, I can't wait! I saved that dinner for last so that my DD will have something really magical as her last memory of WDW.

Is it sad that I am more excited to go then she is? :rotfl2:

Like the PP, I have only been to 1900 Park Fare, and we really enjoyed it. I've heard some good things about Boma. My sister and her husband have eaten at Cape May Cafe and they said it was good.

Whispering Canyon is fun but loud so be prepared but kids love it because they can participate in all of the fun and games.

Boma is one of our favorites and we plan to go once again for our upcoming trip (from what I can remember they do have mac and cheese if ur dd doesn't want any of the other cuisine)

Cape May Cafe is super yummy, and we're also going there for our trip

Might i recommend Ohana's? Great food awesome views of Cinderella castle and is a lot of fun for kids. They also have a character breakfast with Lilo and Stitch, but there dinner doesn't have any characters.

Hope u have fun :)

Sounds like a good variety of choices. We've done the Princess Breakfast in Norway. It was good. We've eaten at the Cape May Cafe several times and always enjoy.

We've done all of these. It's a pretty good buffet/family style/character cross section of what WDW has to offer. Of your choices, Boma is our favorite followed by 1900 Park Faire and Akershus (we prefer lunch, breakfast is very basic there). Whispering Canyon and Cape May, are probably two of our least favorites, but all are a matter of taste.

Thanks for the input. I just read some scarey reviews of the service/food for Whispering Canyon....they were all lunch reviews though, are the dinners any better?

At the suggestion of a friend, I made ADR for Chef Mickeys on the day we go to Animal Kingdom. Since we are out of TS credits, I decided to pay out of pocket for this, since its breakfast it should be somewhat less expensive then paying OOP for dinner (IMHO). Anyhow, that gives us one character dining experience on 3 days, which should be plenty.
