Can you pick up APs at the hotel?

I booked a room at the RP under the AP rate and I am planning on buying the premier pass. Should I buy the pass at home and then pick it up when I check in or just buy it at the hotel? Just trying to figure out the best way to do this without having to go to the park first.

APs must be activated at the park so you'll have to go there to pick them up.

You don't need to have the AP when you check in, so don't worry about going to the park before you check in. Often, that isn't even possible.

It is possible that they won't even ask to see your AP at check in, but if they do just explain that you haven't got it yet and you can show it to them later.

You can pick your AP up at the kiosk at the hotel if you want, though, but like Metro said it is only activated once you actually go through park gates. Only if you are a Florida resident getting a Florida resident pass will you not be allowed to pick up your APs at the kiosks at the hotel.

I don't think that the hotels even can tell if your AP is activated or not. They just take a look at it. They don't scan it.

Do you have to do anything special at the park to activate them, like go to guest services, etc., or just go through the turnstile the first time?

I will be getting in probably after the parks close and want to go straight into the park first thing in the morning. Will I be able to do this if I get the AP at the hotel kiosk the night I arrive? Are the kiosks at the parks always open/available in case I want to go before park opening the next morning?

I assume there is a kiosk at HRH as well?

You just need to go through the turnstile to activate. It is basically just setting the first use.

Yes, you can just get your AP at the kiosk, providing you chose kiosk pick up when you ordered your AP online. There is a kiosk at each hotel, one at Citywalk and also, of course, several at the parks.
