can you pay your room charges with visa rewards points?

Can you use your visa reward points to pay for the charges you ran up during your stay? When I asked concierge, they thought you could but weren't sure and I can't seem to find an answer. I know that we were able to pay for our dining plan with our reward dollars.

I just called Chase Disney rewards today and found out that yes you can!

When I checked in to OKW, I gave them my Rewards card and told them how much was on it. They "credited" that to the room and only charged my Visa when the rewards ran out. It worked out great!

Let me get this straight. I know we cannot use the rewards card everywhere in Disney, but it appears, we CAN charge things to our room, and then pay for said items with the Rewards card at the end of our trip. Correct? If so, that's a pretty cool loop-hole to not being able to use the rewards card everywhere in WDW.

I thought the card could be used anywhere in WDW. Is it just certain stores or is it more a classification of places, like not to use at snack shops? Is there a list somewhere or is it just hit or miss on using the rewards card?Thanks!

There's a list on the chase website. There's a lot of places on the list - but I know it's not everywhere.

From what I experienced, pretty much anywhere that had a card swiper could accept the Rewards card. The places that were cash only (vendors, mostly) couldn't accept the card (or any credit card for that matter). I think that any place that will accept your room card will accept the Rewards card...not sure about the RFC at AK now that I think about it...

I think you have to look pretty hard to find a place that doesn't accept it.

Thanks! We used it this year to pay for our ddp, but next year I am unsure if we will use ddp. So it is great to know we can charge our food to the room and pay with it with rewards! With 2 under 2, I see a lot more counter service places in our future!!

yeah this is our second too and we are having a boy also! DD is soooooooo happy. She didn't want a sister AT ALL.

she'll be 4 when ds is born. we wanted them spread out a bit. we were actualy going to start trying in jan so i'd be preg for disney but ds had other plans. lol
