If I have a Gold AP that expires on 12/30, can I use a MYW ticket to enter the parks on the days right after that AP expires, (during blackout dates) and then use the bridged value of the MYW ticket to renew my Gold AP?

I know you can do this for the original purchase of a Gold AP, allowing you to enter on blackout dates, and save a significant amount of money by buying a deeply discounted MYW ticket and then upgrading. However, I am not sure if you can "double dip" on the renewal.

For clarification, I would renew after the Blackout dates, say 1/03, would be within 14 days of the first use of the MYW ticket, and within 30 days of the original Gold AP expiration.

Yes, it's possible but complicated. You'll need to find a CM who actually knows how to do it.

However, it seems like the savings are worth the complication. Here are my numbers based on purchasing the 7 day Park Hopper from Park Savers.

You save over $160 per person over the two years, and assuming you do not vacation over both blackout periods, you effectively do not have any blackout dates.
Prices will almost certainly change, but if the cost of the 7 day MYW Park Hopper increases by the same amount as the AP increases, my Actual Cost would not change.
