Can you park at The Contemporary?

how did you know the people who were using the pool were not staying there? do they have special towels like some resorts. we went to the contemporary 10 years ago and liked it however they were doing work on the pool so we went to the beach club pool to swim. don't know if that was ok but we wanted a nice place to swim and our hotel did not have it.

Maybe, maybe not but if DH can't find a parking spot when we get there and it's full of people who didn't want to bother parking over in TTC, I'm going to be ticked and hope they do tow at least a few people!

We are paying big bucks to stay at the Contemporary and I have a dreaded fear that we won't find any place to park because of everyone else deciding it's easier for them to park in the hotel parking lot.

We always have reservations at Chef Mickeys for bfast. We always go during the off season (after Thanksgiving) and we have always had them ask if we have PS, we do and they check for our name and have given us a 3 hour permit and they took our license plate number.

We've never gotten an actual piece of paper (as a 3 hour pass) but everything else you said is right on target in regards to our experiences also.

I was the one that asked about the towing. We are going to the Boardwalk for dinner/shopping/exploring, and will be onsite guests at another resort. Taking a bus to the TTC or to DTD and then to the Boardwalk with a preschooler and a stroller is a nuisance. However, looks like thats what we may be doing.

OK, I think some of the posters need to realize there are 2 distinct types of parking:

free self parking - usually a 3 hour limit (the BoardWalk I think can vary because they have the nightlife area there that draws in non-resort guests). If you self park at a resort that you aren't eating or shopping at and are there for longer than 3 hours, you are breaking the rules and potentially taking a space from a paying guest of the resort.

$7 valet parking (deluxe/DVC resorts only) - no time limit, you are not taking a spot from a guest, as they can always drive your car to a different lot. Note too that it's $7/day - so you pay at the first resort and then can valet park at any other one the same day for no additional charge (do tip though!). If you are touring the resorts, that is the way to go.

As long as your dinner/shopping/exploring takes under 3 hours, why be concerned?

I don't think you'll have a problem parking at the Boardwalk. Their parking lot is quite big. I think the MK resorts are the ones really enforcing the rules because it's closer to MK than the TTC.

The Boardwalk is not any closer to Epcot than Epcot's own parking lot, same as MGM. Plus, the Boardwalk is visited not only by resort guests, but also by non-resort guests who just come for the nightlife which the MK resorts don't really have. Their parking lot is much bigger than the parking lot of MK resorts.
