DH bought a new TV for his "man town". I'm thinking about moving the old one up to our living room since its larger than what is currently in the living room. BUT, the TV & its matching stand are gray...and LARGE. If it was smaller, I could accept the gray in the room. But its just too much gray & really looks out of place in our room of wood tones. And unfortunately it won't fit in the armoire currently in the living room.

I'm sure I can paint the tv stand, but then it won't match the tv anymore. Which leads me to wanting to paint the TV, or at least the front & side parts of the tv case (minus a small square of buttons).

Google isn't helping me.

What do you think?

Look up painting the type of material the TV is made of, ie wood, plastic

I'd just give it a light sanding so the paint will adhere and paint away! Just don't cover any of the air vents or anything and you should be fine. If you're THAT worried about it you can always buy the kind of paint that people use to paint their stoves. That way you KNOW that heat won't be an issue, but if you're tv gets that hot, you've got bigger issues! LOL!
