I am not a timeshare owner. My DSis owns II and I knew you could book way in advance with them at the beach club. I just now saw that you can book through RCI. This is probably old news to all of you. I am assuming you dvc owners get to trade into rci and vice versa.

I have stayed at an RCI and noticed a huge difference in quality with that of II. Also are not RCI very cheap to buy into. What is preventing people from buying into RCI and then just waiting to get a DVC unit?? I was just perplexed when I saw this and figure you all had info on it.

There have been several other threads on the RCI/DVC change.

I believe before II, DVC used to be in RCI, and now changed back.
It sounds like there were a few more top quality II choices (especially the Mariott), but both II and RCI have bad ones and really good ones..
It sounds like you need a very desirable RCI week to trade into DVC. (And DVC has a quality filter, we only see ~480 of the ?2000+ RCI resorts) and still has the location filtering out the other Orlando area timeshares from trading into DVC..
It was also true that in II you could buy a resale cheap, high demand week and occasionally trade into DVC..
