Can You Name a Movie "Hint"?

I remember reading somewhere on the DIS that Disney movies often have a scene that gives a hint as to the next movie to be released. We were just watching Tarzan, and in one scene they show many parts of the humans' camp. On a table are Mrs. Potts and Chip from Beauty and the Beast (without faces, of course).

I wanted to see if the DISers on the board can make a complete list of all the times Disney has done this...

When did Disney begin doing this? What other movies show a hint as to the next to be released? Please describe the scene and the "hint".

Thanks!

Tarzan came out after B&B. Many Disney films have flashbacks of characters, etc from previous feature films. Such as:

In the Hunchback of Notre Dame, you briefly see Belle from B & B walk by as Quaismodo is looking down onto the crowds (during his song "Out There").

In Monsters INC toward the end, Boo hands Sully a Jessie the cowgirl doll from Toy Story 2, and also a toy of a Nemo fish is seen in her bedroom.

In Aladdin, Genies's head turns into Pinocchio. He also pulls out a Sebastian the crab when he's reading a cookbook.

In the first POTC film, Barbossa references Snow White. "I feel cold..."

In Aladdin, watch when the Sultain is stacking his toys. There is a Beast from B & B hidden in there.

In Treasure Planet, the weird robot who befriends Jim hawkins starts singing "Yo ho yo ho a Pirates life for me" at one point in the film.

In Hercules, you see a Scar rug.

There are dozens more, but those are the few I can think of now.

That would not be a hint since Beauty and the Beast came out 8 years before Tarzan. (Beauty and the Beast came out in 1991 and Tarzan came out in 1999.) The next animated release after Tarzan was Fantasia 2000 followed by Emperor's New Groove.

I have never heard of them doing this before (not saying it doesn't happen, just never heard of it.)

And don't EVEN get me started on Enchanted! :lmao:

I don't think they do it so much as to give a hint, but it is more of a nod or a tip of a hat.

The girl named Darla in Finding Nemo? Guess where she got her name? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0026565/

Oh, Oh!

The books in Andy's room in Toy Story are named after other Pixar shorts.

If I can think of more, I'll post them. I love stuff like this.

And the Pizza Port truck is in every Pixar Feature.

I had to watch Wall*E twice to find it and when I did, I earned a big huge smack-on-the head "D'oh!"

Thanks for the good ones so far...I'm a relatively new Disneymovieholic and this is all great! DS5 will finally let the whole family watch most of a movie without a ton of questions and distractions! I've seen most of the films, but always miss quite a few bits each time...

Keep 'em coming!

There are 3 in Finding Nemo.

In the dentist's office, when Darla is screaming and there is a mother & son sitting in the waiting room hearing all the racket, pay close attention to what the son is reading. It's an Incredibles comic book.

Also in the dentist office, look at the toy box on the floor of the waiting room & you'll see a Buzz Lightyear.

During the end credits of the film, Mike from Monsters INC swims by.

we just saw Toy Story 2 in 3D
and in Als Toy Barn the Garden toys are Bugs Life... I don;t think I had seen Toy Story 2 so I'm not sure if it was always like that or if that changed things when they made it 3D

Not a movie, but on Phineas and Ferb, I noticed that one of the monsters in the episode today was a background character in Monsters, Inc.
