Can someone please let me know if I can laminate my PHP that I just purchased from hotwire? I know to photocopy the backs, thanks to all of you, but I thought if I laminate them they will not get ruined as easily.

No. Laminating would render the pass useless. The magnetic strip on the back is the key to the pass.

And it is very hard to "ruin" the pass. I have passes that I have had from years ago that are just as good as new.

Thank you, I'm glad I asked and I guess it was a silly question. I was just trying to find a way to protect it, I know me and I can destroy anything!!

NO! It works because of the magnetic strip on the back. If you cover that with laminate, it won't read and you won't get in the gate!

The best way to protect it is to copy the numbers down from the back of the ticket and keep your receipt. That way if something does happen to it, it can be replaced.

They look flimsy, but they are actually a plastic fiber, not cardboard.
The most likely thing to damage it is de-magnetising the magnetic strip on the back. That can happen if you put it close to a cell phone, digital camera or let the magnetic strip come into contact with another magnetic strip.

The most frequent damage to a WDW ticket aside from demagnitizing it, is running it through the washer (or the Lazy River!). I bet more tickets are replaced for that reason than anything else! Since, when they are washed, they won't scan, and most of the time, it washes off the letters and numbers used to replace it, please save your receipts or make copies of the tickets and bring them with you. With the new MYW tics, it will be much easier to look them up and replace them, because each ticket will belong to a particular person and all of the information will be in the WDW ticket data base, so as long as you have your ID, you are golden!
