We were wondering if we could make a reso at Le Cellier and only order a few sides to share? We basically just want to try the cheese soup! We also wanted to try the mac & cheese & poutine. Those two are considered sides, can you order them without ordering a entree?

Thanks!!:goodvibes

There is no rule, requirement or law stating that anybody has to order an entree when dining at a TS restaurant.

Just a warning though. I see you're from Ontario. The poutine is NOT real poutine and since you can easily get the real stuff, you'll know the difference. The stuff at LeCellier from what I understand is french fries with a cheddar cheese sauce (not curds, not mozzerella) with a brown beef sauce (not gravy, sauce). If that's what you're expecting then great, enjoy. If not, at least now you know what to expect and can order with full knowledge, or choose to order something else like maybe the maple creme brulee.

Our DD has ordered appetizers for her entree.
She has also ordered an adult appetizer and a kids meal - at age 15 :goodvibes
At Coral Reef she gets the lobster bisque soup and the kids cheese pizza.
Even me, DW, the picky adult - has done the same as my DD.
Plus is has less calories.

Thanks for the heads up about the poutine. That is definetly not poutine! haha

How do you get the pretzel bread sticks? I don't see them on the menu?

The pretzel bread has always been complementary when we have visited Le Cellier and brought to the table after we place our order. I can make a meal out of a bowl of cheese soup and a few sticks of pretzel bread. And maybe a small salad for some nutrition :lmao:

Reading over the Table Service menus, there are a lot of places I would consider ordering 1 or 2 or 3 appetizers instead of an entree. Why Not! I like to try new things. The last few years we had the DDP, we were locked out of appetizers unless we bought them extra. So next time, no DDP, time to explore new things... :)

That is what I want to do! LOL
Do you think they'll give me pretzel bread with just a soup order! hehe

It was nice going to EP during the Food & Wine Festival in November b/c I could try the soup without having to make an ADR. Needless to say, I HATED it...but at least I got to try it for under $5!! ;)

The poutine for dinner is a lot better than that. The poutine for lunch is disgusting as described.

Yes, we've had just soup and breadsticks (sometimes a dessert too) here. We try not to linger and chat and tie up the table too long so others can be seated for their meals, and we tip the waiter/waitress a bit more than the 18-20% for taking up one of their tables from a normal party who would tip for a full meal.

Do not intend for this to be a tipping topic! Just to mention that we tip the CM fairly when not ordering a full meal at any TS location.

We've eaten at Le Cellier many times and more often than not I get either one or two bowls of soup instead of an entree!

Add the bread and steal a bite or two from those ordering a full meal and I am very happy!
